I'm so happy for you @globalhiker! I know you can do it!
It doesn't seem that @chicbuc has posted this morning. But, from the spreadsheet, it seems she was AF yesterday also.
I'm on Day 7…let's do this!
BTW…I've lost 10 lbs since October 6th.

@WestCoastGirl_1 , I'm sure that both your mother and your sweet cat are so proud of you. I know that all of us who've followed your journey here are equally proud and happy for you. No wine needed! Hugs.

@itladyee It seems you forgot to change the number of days in the November spreadsheet to 30. It's no big deal. But if you feel like changing it that would be cool too!
I guess your birthday is in just of a couple of days. Have you decided what you are going to do? We don't usually do much on our birthdays. Sometimes we'll go out to dinner (just the two of us) and sometimes I just like to stay home and grill.
Whatever you decide to do…have a great day!

@SparkSpringtime69 Thanks for the shout out! I know your intentions were to be AF for the rest of November starting this week. But, don't feel bad. You saw how long it took me to get just 1 day AF. At first, I was afraid to be without anything in the morning. Sometimes I would wake up at 4 am and the liquor store didn't open until 9 am…talk about being miserable! So, instead of being miserable, I made sure that I had something to drink in the morning. Once I got to the point that there was nothing in the house in the AM, it got much easier.
I don't have a lot of advice. But if you are anything like me, once you get 1 day AF, it really gets easier. You feel accomplished, proud, and physically you feel better. After Day 1, for me, I no longer have any desire to drink. I was tired of feeling the way I felt. Although, I thought that was just the way things were. It never occurred to me that the lack of balance and coordination were due to the fact that I was constantly intoxicated. I thought it would take some time and PT-type exercises (at home) to be able to function again. But I was wrong. I'm already moving normal again. It feels really good…not to mention the weight loss.
Do this on your own time, but do keep trying. It's definitely worth it!
Take care of yourself, HUGS!

7 day for our friend! That's so awesome, @WestCoastGirl_1 and the weight loss to boot! Loving it!
I'm remaining strong. It's hard to start, but I'll be coasting soon enough.
@tmbg1 Great start!
@SparkSpringtime69 You're still showing up here. You'll get there!
@itladyee We can't wait to hear how your milestone birthday goes…spoil yourself!!
@globalhiker You're getting your groove back! Love it!
Thanks for all the comments on the photo. We really had fun doing it! We're talking about a repeat Halloween cruise next year with a new group costume, but I'm not sure how we'd top that one.

Let me know what you're seeing. I adjusted everything through column AI, which is 30 days… Let me know what I'm missing. When I look at your plan, it's showing 30, not 31, so let me know what I've missed.
Congrats on the streak!!!!

@chicbuc Congrats on your 1st day AF. You are right…you will be coasting soon!

@itladyee All the columns B, C & D are correct. But, column E is showing the percentage as if there were still 31 days. I selected all days in November as planned and it's showing a percentage of 96.77%. It should show 100%. The end of the formula for all of the entries in column E are showing /31*100. It's really not a big deal. But, it would be nice to see 100%.
Thanks for the congrats. Today will be Day 7. I will post it later.

Well, I guess I'll claim today AF.

7 DAYS! Wow, you go! Proud of ya.
I wrapped up October with 19 AF/12 A. So far November is 2 & 2.
Been busy, lots going on between business, errands, family and keeping up with mycology stuff. Harvested my first flush the other day, got them dehydrated. Really cool to see something grow successfully, since I've never been much of a gardener. Plan was to let the last few small fruits mature, harvest everything, dunk the mycelium to rehydrate it and set it up for a second flush, but it decided not to wait for me. In the span of a few hours, it went from picked over with a few straggling fruiting bodies to covered with hyphal knots and pins. So….off to the races again, I guess. LOL I won't complain. Anyway, the first harvest is enough to keep me microdosing for a year, everything else is just a bonus, and opportunities to learn more about the art and science behind refining cultures and providing proper nutrients, substrate conditions and microclimates.
Last night, I tried my hand at homemade kongnamul bulgogi, a Korean dish I found online. It turned out really good, and was surprisingly easy to make. Tonight, we ate garbage, stopped at Wendy's on the way home from voting after work. I limited my portion, at least, and didn't gorge. Still…ugh, fast food leaves ya feeling kinda gross, doesn't it?
Anyway, no alcohol in the house to speak of, nothing for me to actually drink at least, and no trips to the store planned. The less I drink, the better I sleep, and the better I sleep, the better I feel, so there's that.

Hi everyone,
Today I am finishing up Day 5! I forgot to post my 3-day milestone:
I also racked up impressive steps due to walk home from work and to and from my voting location:
I weigh in tomorrow. I hope I have atoned (somewhat) from my pre-10/31 debauchery!

Hi everyone! My goal is AF for November with the exception of Thanksgiving Day. Hopefully I can move on from there. It’s harder than I thought it would be to cut back or eliminate alcohol. My triggers are social functions, sitting on my deck in the Summer, anger, anxiety, dinner. That pretty much covers my whole life!
I’m inspired by you all. This 3rd AF day was the hardest so far when hubby wanted to share the last of the wine. But I declined! Yay.3 AF

@StepWise123 Great job declining! I have to NOT have wine in my house or I will drink it. Period. That's my trigger…that and the casino, so I avoid both.
Happy Hump Day!!

Started the backstitching on the cross stitch I’m working on.
The husband had a PET scan yesterday. The cancer is back. Pray for us, him especially… just pray…
And for the love of all that is holy, can someone please put a cork in the MIL’s butt!? She constantly sounds like she is crapping her pants whenever she moves! It’s absolutely disgusting!

@StepWise123 Congratulations on 3 days AF!
Quitting drinking is hard. The main thing for me is how we associate drinking with good times or certain activities. I used to like to drink while I was outside working in the yard. I didn't drink a whole lot while I was working, though, because I would only take a sip from time to time (I was busy working). I also associated drinking with swimming, fishing, boating, kicking back on the deck, gambling at the casino, cooking dinner…although, I think cooking is easier when I'm sober. I'm the type that doesn't like a lot of irons in the fire. So it's easier for me to pay attention.
For me, I have to try to just disassociate alcohol with those activities. Working in the yard can be just as much fun drinking a cold glass of iced tea. Plus, I'm more productive! You don't know my history. But I can't moderate. If I were to drink on Thanksgiving, I would drink daily for the next month or more. It took me months to have an AF day. Since quitting (I'm on Day 8), for some reason, I no longer have any desire to imbibe…maybe, a higher power is responsible. Or, maybe, It's just that I feel so much better. I was a daily drinker and I don't think that I was ever really completely sober. My balance and coordination were off and I felt weak. Things have improved very quickly for me.
I don't know your history or long-term goals. But I hope you are successful reaching those goals!
@chicbuc Congrats on 2 days AF!
Have a great day everyone!

Welcome @eddiesmith1
@chicbuc ~ Glad you enjoyed your trip but even happier to see you back here with us! Love the car wash pic! Looks like you all had a great time! I did start a little retail therapy yesterday. I stopped by Macy's to browse and found a blazer regularly priced $209.00 for 29.00, yep, it came home with me. Also a Nike lepard sweatshirt. Not as great of a deal regular price 80.00, I was on sale for 60. Then I stopped by DSW and picked up a pair of cute shoes!
@BurnMode05 ~ I also need to get back to weekly goals. They are more attainable, I think
@nbruns83 ~ I just saw a clip talking about Julia Child and how she added the "blood of the chicken" (Alcohol) to several recipes! At any rate, your toast was nice and yes, bittersweet. They all will be missed, forever! I had a dream that my disfunctional family (neice & nephew, you've heard my sister stories and the lack of support from her kids) surprised me with a visit for my birthday. I woke up crying. While I hate what they did (or didn't do ) for my sister, they are still family. I do miss the days of family surprises. I used to surprise my parents with a visit often.
@WestCoastGirl_1 ~ that is SOOOO awesome that you have no interest in drinking! You are doing an amazing job!! Yep, birthday tomorrow. Might go to breakfast, not sure. Do have plans for dinner with my DH. It will be a quiet, reflective day. I've been slacking with exercise…barely moving…so I will get back on track tomorrow…it's the first day of the rest of my life!! It WILL be a great day and I will look great with my new blazer and cute shoes!
@SparkSpringtime69 ~ talk to us. I'm all in my feelings…that's my story. I will probably have a cocktail pre-dinner and wine with dinner….then putting on my big girl panties and shaping up!!!
@Walela617 ~ Congrats!!!
Welcome @StepWise123
Crap @NonnieDoiron Keeping you, and your husband in my prayers!
I've got to run. Dinner is ready and DH is sulking….
{{{{hugs}}}} to everyone!! Stay positive, stay the course!!
