My wedding rings are spinning and I can shake my hand and make them clack like a noisemaker. I am afraid I am going to lose them. I bought a ring snuggie, but even with the adjuster, I can still easily fit it on my thumb or forefinger! I am about halfway to my goal, so I don't want to resize yet, but I just might have to!

@Venus1721 That happened to me earlier this year. I was afraid I was going to lose them. Im fortunate to have been married long enough to have received an "upgrade" for a Special Anniversary. That's the too large set. I have gone back to my Original set when I was a slim young bride and it fits me perfectly 🥰 Once I have reached goal....in 2026...I am resizing. Is it too soon for an Special Anniversary 🤔 😍

Lifters at the gym make eye contact with me now.

At the Tuesday group I go to, I was told I looked like I had lost a lot of weight, even though I've only been going for the last year (?!?) and have probably lost a kilo in that time, but I told them I had lost 26kilos, but it's taken ten years.
Noticed that a pair of jeggings I wear is a size L, and I'm at least a size bigger… they still fit but are probably tighter than they should be.

Well it still must be satisfying and a little nostalgic to be able to wear the original set, even if it's only temporarily. But not being able to wear your Special Upgrade is near-tragedy! 🤣

Is this a sign of acceptance? I don't know gym societal intricacies.

@Venus1721 LOL! I love my original set and yes! It's very nostalgic and romantic wearing it again. 💖 My multi year Upgrade is highly appreciated and was completely unexpected. It would truly be a tragedy to lose it 😔....so after a couple of weeks of living in fear I thought I'd try on the Original and it slid right on. Every day I'm still super excited that it fits again. 😄
I have decided that when we travel outside of our country I'm going to always wear my original set so its a positive that this happened. The world is changing so much its better to wear a smaller discreet set these days. I was not expecting this as a positive result of my weight loss.🤭

I don’t know what size underwear I usually wear, but I’ve been rotating through a few pairs for a while, and one pair started to fall down today. Turns out im not a 3xl!!! (They are all different sizes)

Now I can fit in the shower with my significant other.

I am excited about the improvement in my fitness level just from walking! I have a regular appointment approximately monthly and I live in a city that's more convenient to take transit than it is to drive. Transit is thoughtfully easy and safe...I remember not that long ago....maybe a year....walking from my subway stop to my appointment. It was physically arduous lol. It's slightly uphill...I would be huffing and puffing....and often walking backwards in hopes of flagging a cab for the last couple of blocks. One never came. I gave myself plenty of time for the walk, 30 minutes, so I would make my appointment.
I had my appointment yesterday. I don't give myself extra time anymore....I walk quickly and it takes me about 10 minutes now. I'm not aware of the hill, either I thought it was there or I'm able to climb with ease lol. Definitely have stopped walking backwards! But yesterday, for the FIRST TIME, I thought I had another city block to go! I "looked ahead" and thought Ah, there it is...feeling great! As I approached the corner I was stunned 😲. I was there! It wasn't a block away! I HAD ARRIVED! It was the FIRST time I really had the energy I could have easily walked another city block!! All those 45 minute walks have definitely paid off.
If you aren't sure where to start, start at the beginning. Lace up your shoes, start with getting outside. You'll be shocked where it LITERALLY takes you if you just keep going! ☺️

I passed my cavern diving course. It took a while. I first did it in April, but my line laying was really bad, so I practiced a bit and redid the course in October. The first day went well, but I plopped a hole in my drysuit so has to wait a couple of weeks before going to the mine for the final day.
I got there on Monday, and passed. The mine dive was stunning; really good fun. I definitely want more cave diving in my life…

Cave diving probably ain't my thing. I am not excited about overhead environments. There's a few in the aquarium, but it's pretty safe.
I found a tiny leak in my drysuit on Monday too. Just a pinhole. I inflated the suit (still wearing it) and got down in the rinse tank to see if I could find bubbles. Nope. So I'll take it to the shop tomorrow in the next city south about an hour away. As long as it's there, new neck and wrist seals because they'll need 'em soon. My gas bottles will also get dropped off. One needs a hydro and visual, the other just a visual. I will probably take in my tiny bottle too - it's way out of date, but it's so SMALL at 64 cubic feet. It's an old low pressure steel 72, but it only holds 72 cubic feet if it has the "plus" stamp at hydro. They can only do that one time, then it's down to listed pressure. Some cave divers love these bottles and shove a lot more air than they are legally allowed to. I probably wouldn't mind doing that, but I won't. If I wanted to (and knew someone who would do it) I would have to change the burst disc. I watched someone overfill one of these bottles, and boy howdy was that loud. Might as well get the regulator serviced too. It's due. Since I won't have a drysuit or air bottles, might as well let them hold the regulator too.

Yeah, my bottles are steel 12 litres. They're rated to 220 bar, but for testing can go a lot higher. There are a few shops around which fill to 250 bar hot (tends to be 230-ish when it's cooled down). Some caving huts have compressors, so you can do your own fill there to whatever pressure the machine can cope with.
For cave diving, I'm restricted to the rule of sixths, so the fill pressure isn't critical; I can't do a long, deep dive with that constraint. My Monday dive was relatively long, but shallow - my max depth was about 10 metres. I came out with 150 bar in both bottles, so had loads of air left.

I've begun the process of going thru my closet this week again Springerling. It's not the first time but it has been quite a while. My largest clothes are a size 10 or M. I'm quite stunned that my size 10 clothes are extremely generously sized! My M tops are equally as large. Now, I fit best in a size 6 pant and a Small or Extra Small t-shirt. Tip.…I set aside pj's and work out clothes like leggings, too big t-shirts, etc, and pack them for vacations as "disposable" work out wear, sleep wear, swim suit cover ups, almost anything I can think of! Too big sweaters I wear with nice Wolford stockings and turn them into sweater dresses for the winter or pack with me. I've been doing it for years...I used to come home with dirty laundry and wash it all until I stumbled on this little idea. It's much better than overpacking...and I really try to wash the clothes on vacation and donate them at a local charity shop....especially if I have laundry machines on site. I really do not like buying clothes so I'm enjoying finding "new" old clothes in sizes so small I'd forgotten about them.

for the first time in 9 years I can fit into uk size 10 work trousers! I have a huge muffin top as I have a final 9 lbs to lose to get to goal but it’s a huge achievement for me. Will update once I can fit into them comfortably

was able to walk past the vending machine without even wanting to stop and get anything!

Congratulations! 😍 This is a HUGE achievement 👏. I'm Canadian and am VERY familiar with UK sizes. Not only do we travel to the UK every 2nd year for vacation...my husband and I find London so familiar. It reminds us of growing up in Canada. We once had the same sizing system but over time, "vanity sizing" became the norm. In North America....you are ACTUALLY a size 6 in your work trousers! 😳 Which is the size I currently am. You would be very interested to know that in going thru my closet, I found my "vintage" skirts I kept because they are an expensive label. I bought in my 20s and I remember I was in a fairly large room, with many mirrors, clothes hung on hangers. The sales girl took one look at me and expertly said "Size 10?". I was so surprised 😮. Yes! She provided several skirts, all size 10, and "blazers". I bought two of each and still have them. Those size 10 "tiny" skirts fit just like my current size 6 and even size 4 bottoms. 😳 I am just happy to have them fitting again! My waist is between 28/29 and my hips are between 34/35. That was 30 years ago! To this day, I know I will feel "odd" eventually being a size 2 or even a size 0 😱. (A vintage size 6 or 4).
We return to London next year.....in 2014 we saw The Queen and The Royals at Trooping the Colour! We were front row and will never forget seeing the Queen that close! (Pre Royals drama!). 😔 I look forward to your update.

@spirittrail I wish I still had my pleated wool skirts and corduroy blazers from The Limited, from back in the late 70’s when The Limited had really fine quality. They’d be in style again and I might be able to wear them, what with vanity sizing, since they were a 2 back in the day, lol.
I had a lovely multicolor wool skirt that was a pleasure to wear and sweep around in, what with all the pleats.
That shopping trip was my first two real paychecks.
My NSV is going to an early holiday party, in a sale dress I bought from Anthro a year or two ago and then promptly forgot about. It was really tight and short, and I worked it. I was probably the most surprised person in the room lol. Did have to pull out my one pair of Spanx drawers to hold in the extra skin. 😅 but they were up to the job, even though I think I need a smaller (!!) pair.

@springerling62 My dear friend...I am familiar with The Limited from numerous trips to the States and even I remember the quality being quite good in the 90s. I can only imagine what it was back in the late 70s! Good grief you were tiny! I definitely remember being a size 4 back in the day....but my weight was VERY DIFFERENT!
i'm still 5'4" and when my older brother got married, I was a bridesmaid. I weighed 112 pounds....a good 30 pounds less than I do now. 😄 It is literally impossible that I am "the same size" in a label that is NOTORIOUS for vanity sizing!!
😒 I'm looking at you St John Knits. Yes you...one of the worst for insisting it IS possible to have a healthy BMI AND be a Size 0. 🙄
So proud of you!! Look at you...rocking your gorgeous frock and needing smaller Spanx! 🤩

I realized this morning that one of my favorite bathing suit tops has a whale pattern on it.
I’ve never paid a lick of attention.
Old obese me would have awkwardly leaned in to the irony and cracked jokes.
New me couldn’t care less, and I whiled away a couple hundred yards pondering the irony of the lack of irony over the whales.

Last week was the 55th Anniversary of an incident involving a whale.
For a few games a couple years ago, a minor league baseball team changed their name from the Eugene Emeralds to the Eugene Exploding Whales.

I first heard about that when I read Dave Barry's piece about it. There are only a few other times in my life that I've laughed that hard at something, and maybe the only one where it was coupled with a bit of empathetic horror. 🤣😬

Been making progress with my running. I can now run continuously for 8.5 minutes!. That’s up from 5.5 minutes. 👍
