    Extreme elimination diet (doctor prescribed) for diagnostic reasons, very low calories, then boom! Gained 40 pounds.

    🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 316 (my 246th).

    Goals for every round;

    • First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
    • to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
    • be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
    • to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
    • Would like to lose a pound round.

    I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.

    Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

    Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

    I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".

    11/26 138 (trend 139.1) pleased that the number has stuck, a good round for me, although I’ve had the odd ‘treat’, I’ve not allowed that to turn into any binges & 1.2 pound lost – success. 8.26 miles walked.

    Should have been a loss… I was well within CI/CO goals. Missed my UPF goal with candy.

    Yesterday I removed a truck-bed-full of leaves from my yard. The wind was blowing so hard that it consolidated them into piles without raking. Have you seen the glass booth where a person is inside while cash is blowing around like a blizzard as he tries to catch as much as possible? That is what I looked like, I am sure.

    I am grateful!!! Today we have our two kiddos and their families over for Thanksgiving. Mom too. We will all go over to the nursing home with pies to have dessert with dad. I am smoking a turkey again. A lot of work, but memories are created around the table.

    It will be a miracle if I drop weight tomorrow morning.

    11/27 174.6 This is result of a decadent ice cream with bourbon dessert that was eaten at 8pm last night. After finally choosing protein and veggies all day I negated it all with an alcohol sugar bomb.

    I did manage to get through yesterday with no nap and did not get up in the middle of the night. Tokyo time is starting to wear off.
    I had my yearly physical on Tuesday and got my blood results already. Interesting news is my thyroid showed up under active. This could be from my circadian rhythm being disrupted with travel. Or it could be something new that would explain why this last year has been really, really hard for me to make progress with weight loss.

    I suspect that it’s the jet lag but part of me wants to blame my lack of progress in 2025 on my metabolism not my shoveling food into my pie hole.
    Dr agreed that we’ll do a new blood panel in early January before we make any moves.

    I’m starting Thanksgiving at the gym with a HIIT class but I’ll be ending it eating pie in my sweat pants. My plan is to skip the appetizers that I always eat too many of, seriously why does my mil put out so much food before we eat a giant meal???!!!

    @Skyleen75 I have been an underactive thyroid patient for almost 20 years. (Hypothyroidism). I can tell you that B Vitamins, and very specifically Biotin can skew your test results. When it's time for my bloodwork my doctor has me skip my daily multivitamin for about 3 days prior in order to get the most accurate results. I also take sporadic biotin in my hair, skin & nails supplement for hair issues so I must stop that too. I'm also told to watch my table salt usage due to the iodine in it and lastly, avoid products containing aspirin. Get lots of rest and plenty of fluids before testing. This will give you the most accurate results without interference. I hope this helps.

    🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/27- 182.0 ❌ (Trend Weight – 180.1) WTH? Nearly 5 lbs gained in 48 hours? And I haven’t even had my two Thanksgiving dinners or the birthday party yet! One day was after a travel day, but yesterday wasn’t that off. I did get extra hungry last night and added a “diet” sandwich to my otherwise perfect day along with a little icecream. Sandwich was zero net carb bread with 2 oz of deli fresh rotisserie chicken and ¼ smashed avocado in lieu of cheese or mayo. The ice cream was two small scoops. I got in 30 minutes on the exercise bike and slept pretty good last night. For dinner I had the last of my red beans and rice. Last time I made it I gained weight too. But this time I added more veggies so each cup contains less rice. I also lowered the measured amount I ate into a smaller portion. I thought it would help. Maybe not. No TMI today though. I do see on my food log that my sodium was very high in all my choices yesterday and also the day before when I was in the city, But a 5 lb gain in two days is just crazy! Ok, rant over. Time to get to work starting with lots of water today! I’ve already been out shoveling snow today. Areas near me are going to get up to 25” of snow by tomorrow night. We are expected to get under a foot in my area. Travel advisories. Good luck to everyone this round. ‘Tis the season to be Jolly.

    11/27 231/230.2 🚶🏽👣 🏋️‍♂️💧⬇️Surprise!!! The scale tomorrow should be ok as well….as I'm having a delayed Thanksgiving. Today was ok, but let's just say…it definitely was NOT about the food…I really learned to appreciate my cooking and the very little that I do from a "box". I felt bad for Julian (the 5-year-old) who was commenting…how do I make this taste better….I'm cooking tomorrow, and my son will be here with the boys….so, yum! The turkey is prepped, cornbread dressing is marinating :) and desserts are made. Tomorrow, while the meats (Turkey and Ham) are in the oven, I will complete some collard greens, mac n cheese, yams, and homemade (my Mom's recipe) rolls…. gravy if I feel like it… I eliminated a few things since it's a smaller venue. I'm going to eat a little bit of everything and probably not going to be a tracking day!! Early morning weigh in is key and then maybe a few RTW for a couple of days!! 😂

    🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 316 (my 246th).

    Goals for every round;

    • First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
    • to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
    • be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
    • to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
    • Would like to lose a pound round.

    I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.

    Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

    Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

    11/28 DNW Hahaha! My scale said “lo battery” this morning. For once it’s got my back.

    I enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner but did not over eat. In general it’s a much richer, saltier, carb focused meal than I normally eat but my portions were small. Admittedly it’s not my favorite meal in the world.

    Today I live in the danger zone- heading out to breakfast with DH before Xmas tree selecting. And I did bring home leftovers for the big day after Thanksgiving sandwich- that IS one of my favorite things!!!

    I think I’ll wait to put the new scale batteries in.
