Thank you Barbie for a clean slate for December! We appreciate you!!

November Accomplishments
Physical Wellness
- Lost 11.3 kg (25 lbs) since the beginning of January. I had a teensy-tiny loss in November!
- Walked 54 km.
- Cycled 233 km, including 3 events.
- Climbed 303 flights of 20 stairs up plus landings at work.
- 32 hours of exercise ... might have done more, but was sick for a few days.
- Took my husband to 2 medical appointments.
Occupational/Intellectual/ Financial
- Worked full time in November - busy as usual but I feel like I'm accomplishing things and of course I'm always learning lots.
Environmental/Social/Emotional/Spiritual
- Cycling Club work — organised and ran two events. I've also been working on event promotion and the club website.
- Bees — attended 2 talks about bees at the library, attended bee club meetings in person and on Zoom, and got bees for our new hive!!
- Home — we got new double-glazed windows to replace the 4 former single-glazed windows in the main area of our house. So nice!! Reduced noise from outside and much better temperature control inside the house. We've hardly used our split system since we got the new windows.
- Gardening — I've been able to dig and dig and dig.
- Did several Sudokus.
- Coloured 1 page with a lot of little detail.
- Read 6 books.
- Continued reading Bible every night.
November Books
I gave Liane Moriarty's Here One Moment 6 stars. The scale is out of 5 stars, but for whatever reason that book really resonated with me. Right now it holds the position of best book I've read in 2025.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The rest got 5 stars so there was stiff competition this month, except for The Body Keeps Score which I gave 4 stars.

Flea I am with you It is two years now since I changed my diet. I notice the only time I tend to over eat is when I am tired. Still even when I am tired eating high sugar over processed food does not appeal to me. I particularly like being on this way of eating this time of year. No pressure to bake and prepare treats. I am reading Sugarless by NIcole Avana to keep me on track. She brings out that when the low fat craze hit in the 90's that sugar was heavily used by the food manufacturers. Fat still can get a bad rapt today. It is not the fat but the type of fat that still confuses people. If it is from a healthy animal, a cold pressed oil like olive, avocado, coconut oil, good quality fish oil. Those sources are where you want to get your fats.
If you eat a high sugar snack it will only temporarily satisfy you. In about two to three hours you will more than likely crave another sugary snack.
Because of the way I eat today I never feel the need or want to snack anymore so that helps me avoid choices that are not as good for me.

Machka - i love your view.
I believe Melanie and I are within a couple hours of one another.
I love a good snow day on the weekend, not often does it happen.I agree. I like the quiet of a snow day too.
I usually shop year round for Christmas but this year seemed to go by so fast! I also do a lot of shopping at the craft shows we’ve done the last few years and I’m not doing them this year.
- I would be happy with a small Christmas. My DH not so much, I think it’s going to be smaller than normal though.Ginny - I have been shocked to learn how much that stuff goes on.
I’m glad you are feeling better.Melanie - I was imagining you more in the Killam area for some reason. 😂
Love the photos.
I love the hoar frost days, so pretty.Heather - Edie must be proud of herself. Max sounds so mature. He is 14 isn’t he?
I bet that’s a relief for you that your brother is doing better.Lisa - I need to grab a box of dye this week, I’m not ready to go grey yet, I might not ever do it. We just had a resident that left us and had her hair dyed bright pink.
Poor Kim - she’s had a rough year. I hope 2026 rings in with many blessings coming her way.Travelling - I have never had a desire to travel. Except I love being out of the city and I love day trips.
Rebecca - I think that whatever works for you is what is best.
Mo - thank you for asking, lots of bruising but really as long as I don’t touch it, no pain. How soon do you move?
Allie - my cousin had a whole family party based on The National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. They even bought the Lego set and did it. I am not a fan of that Christmas movie or type of comedy. My favourite Christmas movie is “It’s a Wonderful Life” for a classic, but I also really like Jim Carey’s Grinch and Tim Allen’s Santa Claus.
Lanette - that is scary. There was a bear attack last week that made headlines, children were attacked on a walk at school. We have left them with little space to live.
Kylia - your SIL is so rude to you. They treat you like an employee not an owner and then when you act like an employee with a retirement in mind they laugh. I’m SMH with you.
Rori - I really hope you get some rest and I’m not the least bit surprised you aren’t suffering a bit of PTSD. It doesn’t take much to make us nervous about things and that was a traumatic trip.
Margaret - I am struggling to get my MIL to drink enough. I know it would help her in many ways.
Barbie - Thank you for another new month. It’s seems the years just fly by lately.
The weekends are so short and the weeks so long. I made 9 Christmas cards yesterday and today. I need to make quite a few more.
Lauryn and Michaela were out yesterday and today, yesterday Lauryn made their Christmas jammie shirts. She used to make the bottoms too, but now buys them because the material has gotten so expensive.
Lauryn’s - Jonah’s - Michaela’s and Ryan’s
Today she hemmed a pair of pants for her grandmother and cut my hair for me.I guess I should head to bed. Monday comes too early.

GLP-1 is a naturally occurring hormone. Some food we eat can encourage it, some proteins, fiber, good fats, avoiding sugar, oils, salt, and ultra processed foods. I have found my food noise is minimal. Hubby still buys chips, candy, cookies, etc, but they are not tempting to me, even when he buys my favorite. If you are eating a healthy diet, you might be reaping the benefit.
The drugs are minimcking or encouraging the hormone.??? I'm not sure how they work exactly. But it seems to me that someone on one could kick start their weight loss and quiet the food noise, which is absolutely a real thing, as we all know, then transition off to a diet which encourages GLP-1 production naturally and still lose weight and not have that annoying food noise. I don't know if that's ever been tried, but it seems like it should be possible, at least theoretically.
Into December we go!

Foods high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats can trigger the release of GLP-1, an important hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels and promotes a feeling of fullness.

I want to see my family and friends. I want to drive the coast lines. I want to visit Italy, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, Holland, and Denmark. I want to go back to the Philippines. Most of those countries have been on my list since I was a child. Tasmania is new. I didn't realize it was a real country until Machka. I want to fly first class once (well twice round trip). I want to take a train trip. I want to take a cruise ( I am thinking river style).
Kylia … I'm there with you! I have a list of places I want to visit. I've been to quite a few places in Europe although Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland are still on my list. As are Ireland and Italy. I'd like to visit Iceland too. And a collection of places in Asia. I've been to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan, and would like to go back to those again, and more. I've been to New Zealand, but I've got a lot more exploring to do there.
BTW - Tasmania is a state in Australia. 😊
Apparently my Great-Grandfather has some Romanian blood and I've wondered from time to time if I might have a little bit of a gypsy background.
Meanwhile, it's also good to explore our own areas. I like doing touristy stuff here in Tasmania too.
And just in case people here need to know … March is a really nice month to visit Tasmania. 😊

Kim - sending hugs. You are on a difficult road. Just know that we are with you. I'm sure all kinds of emotions are coming up. 💕
Rosemarie - Great to hear from you. We've missed you. Sorry to hear about your crud. What was the cruise like? 🤗
Rori - Ouff! You have been through pretty much a nightmare. You were a good friend. Now you need time for it to settle into history and become a good dinner party story. It will. 😘
Thank you Barbie for steering us through the seas of life.
Annie, hope you are OK.
V windy here. Dark and damp. Yesterday was beautiful. I did my writing this morning, which has lifted my mood. I'm writing at the moment about my lifelong interest in food, and how it was helped along by living with my BIL in the early 70s.
Having said that, count me in as one of those whose food noise has considerably diminished recently. I have chosen to continue with my cruise-style low carb diet, and I have considerably upped my consumption of healthy nuts, oils, seeds, beans and lentils. I think the nuts are helping damp down my hunger signals. I'm loving this way of eating, and I'm not mega-mega strict.
Lunch is flageolet beans, boiled egg and salad with avocado. Lots of the best, early harvest, olive oil.
Dinner is Prawn Curry in a coconut sauce, with lots of frozen veg, and cooked fresh green beans. Homemade yogurt. Stewed fruit (apples and berries) and crême fraiche for dessert.
I'm finding I don't snack. I'm still having an aperitif at 5.15, when I come down to join John for the evening. It's a ritual we both love. I have got it down to a half, one, or, occasionally, two units, for the evening.
Lots of love to all, especially if you are finding this time of year difficult. I am phoning my friend L this afternoon, who lost her partner around now 4 years ago. She was going great guns over the weekend with decluttering, cooking mince pies for her many friends, and taking piles of garden junk to the tip. Go her!

Heather - It was so good to see your brother enjoying a plate of food!
Kay - Your picture wasn't visible or accessible in the November post. Really wanted to see it, too! Hope you can re-post.
Rori - My dear friend, give yourself that same grace that you give others. It WAS a traumatic, even occasionally terrifying event in your life. Those have echoes that will continue, but your orientation on your mind, body and spirit will get you back to your usual rosy outlook in your own time. You have a gift for finding peace within yourself, and it hasn't deserted you.
Tracey - Love the shirts! Hope you get some time off over the end of the year to be able to get your feet under you. As I said to Rori, give yourself some grace, dear heart. You've got a lot on your plate.
Regarding diets, it's just my opinion, but I think it's the same thing I think we've all come to in discussions of exercise. What works best is what works for your health that you will keep doing.
My own hot take, I will admit, is that I get terribly annoyed with the restriction diets of all kinds. Humans are omnivores! There are obvious exceptions for those who have celiac or are gluten sensitive, etc. But for those who don't, once you start restricting, you've basically stirred your psychology with a big, mucky stick and all kinds of mess gets into the mix. The ones I've seen that seem to be healthiest are ones where people add while keeping calories reasonable - like higher protein, etc. And again, what you can keep doing. We've seen what happens when we cut entire food groups out of our lives. It doesn't end well.
My two cents,🤷🏻♀️and worth what you paid for it.
Checked my texts, and Kim didn't send anything overnight, so please keep her in your thoughts. She said something that I think will resonate with most of us - that the decisions weren't that hard, because her mother has a DNR in place. It's following through on them that's rough.
Will address my goals in another post here in a minute - just sending good thoughts in all directions.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR4 -
Today was clean-up day.
Emptying the van of all the cycling event stuff. Sorting through the cycling event stuff, organising it, putting away things that will keep, etc.
Then, since I was kind of in a cleaning mode, giving my bathroom a good clean rather than a spot clean. Put away a bunch of laundry and got ready for the week.

Thank you Barbie. The final month of the year already!
Tracey - clever pajama tops. With MIL in your craft room, glad to see you are making it work.
Kim - you haven't specifically mentioned, but it sounds like you are recovering really well from your surgery. How's the eyesight? Sounds like it might be time for hospice for your mom. She sure lived a long life.
Rosemarie - can't wait to hear more about your cruise. Sorry to hear about your illness.
Food noise - I'm with Flea, Margaret and Heather and others. Very little food noise for me these days. I rarely get hungry, even though my stomach growls I still "feel full". I get full fast, which seems to be normal for us as we age. (I'm going to ask Dr. Lisa about this). I often force myself to eat supper just to make sure I'm taking in enough protein. My weight stays in the low 160# range without trying.
11 Foods That Naturally Boost GLP-1 (Nature's Ozempic)
I see I eat most of the foods listed every single day. Avocadoes, eggs, Greek yogurt, leafy greens, legumes (always have beans or lentils for lunch), nuts (1 to 3 oz), fatty fish (salmon twice a week), berries, fermented foods. Naturally lower-carb. Higher protein and healthy fat.
Some articles put coffee on the list. I start out the day with a couple cups of "milky coffee" to boost protein. I drink whole milk - organic "grass milk". No blue milk for me.
I still have loud "sugar noise" however.😁😈 If DH was still alive, I'd be making lemon squares and sugary desserts and end up eating most of them myself. 😔 I have ingredients to make desserts but thankfully I'm too lazy to put in the work, lol.
The temperature is supposed to hover around freezing here for most of the morning.
Have a great week, ladies!

I'm baaaaackkkk, 😂🐈⬛😜,
Regarding November - my goals were the usual:
- ❌Be lighter - Nope - got up to as high as 169 during October, and ended the month of November at 172.
- ✅ Be healthier - Absolutely, and quite pleased that I've exercised every day throughout November, inching up the time, alternating rower and elliptical, to get them each to 15 minutes, which I plan to continue. I also add stretching and strength to each day, plus continued work on that racked shoulder. This month, I'm concentrating on getting the intensity higher on each of the machines by upping their resistance levels, but without hurting myself.
- ✅ Stick to the budget - Yes! Was very pleased with our financial health in November, as I dumped most of our Christmas spending into October. It's always a seesaw at this time of year.
And my goals for December are exactly the same:
- ✅Be lighter
- ✅Be healthier
- ✅Stick to the budget
If you're new, welcome! If it seems we've known each other for years, many of us have, but we get new members of the thread almost every month. Some find what they need with this thread, and some need or want more (or less, sometimes, 'cause we can be a lot 😂).
If you feel we're the right group of health-oriented women, please, introduce yourself and sign your posts with what you want to be called, and about where you live, so we can keep the names reasonably straight. And drop into any conversation where you feel comfortable!
We do avoid discussing religion and politics, to make this a safe space for all concerned. We're trying to get healthy, and we know it takes everything in our lives to get there, not just the scale.
Many of us craft, sew, crochet, knit, quilt, and/or paint, whether on cards, canvases, or decor pieces. Again, still part of a healthy life! Quite a few have an exercise habit in place, with runners and bicyclists, among other ways of getting and staying healthy.
And yes, we have more than one person who is working with some of the GLP-type shots, no judgment from anyone here. Many more have simply used the logging function of MFP to help track their intake and their exercise, with some success. Others have had bariatric surgery with some success. As Barbie has said in the past:
🤩 On this thread we share our solutions as we navigate through life seeking health and fitness. I hope you'll join the conversation. If you're new to this, don't be discouraged. You'll feel like one of us in no time at all.

Thanks for a NEW December, Barbie!!! Great graphic. That IS my life!
Love those shirts, Tracey.
I promise, I've read everything. I'm just really out of it this morning. Starting at the DO this morning and I am NOT happy about it. Packed up my office yet again (at the location I LOVED and had hoped to be able to stay and finish out my year) and they're moving me into the DO, where there is no "room" and OH so much drama and clique-iness. I am not looking forward to the next 6 months. BUT, then it's the END! Of course, no one "offered" to help me move anything, even though I asked. So this morning I'm walking in with my computer, leaving my chair and box(es) in my car, handing my keys to Ryan (my friend) at the front desk, and I am going to VERY politely say, "Find someone to bring in my things from my car, please, like they were supposed to do for me, when you move someone from one building to another." I may attempt to use more politically correct words, but I know Ryan so probably not. Like I said, I am NOT happy.
Wish me luck.
I'm only there for three days before surgery on Thursday!
Love and Blessings,
Carla, in MN9 -
I was stumped as to what to paint while Edie was finishing her painting yesterday. I found a tiny canvas, and decided to attempt my bête noir, a portrait. :-() I'm not entirely displeased with the way it turned out, but it's a pretty average effort. Portraits are notoriously difficult, so I'm pleased I had a go.
Can you tell who it is? :-)
Today I ordered some paints we had run out of, and some pens, because our old set is beginning to get a bit weary and one or two are dry.

Barbie - Thank you SO much for starting off December for us once more.
Carla - Hope the move goes well and the surgery is very successful and the recovery is painless and swift.
Heather - Of course! It's Edie… there's a lot of love in that, but I agree that portraits are hard. The demands of the realism of a much-loved face get in the way of the freedom of painting. It's just so hard to make it come out like we see it in our minds! I don't know if that's a good explanation, but that's how it feels.
And speaking of art - a little good news for me last night:
I got a notification just before I went to bed that I had received my first paid subscription on Substack! But wait, there's more! They signed up for an entire year for $60, not a monthly subscription.
And the hits just keep on coming - my so-far-to-date only paid subscriber is the author of one of my favorite sci-fi novels, "Ender's Game." Turned into a movie, etc. The gentleman's name is Orson Scott Card.
I had just subscribed (for free) to his Substack newsletter, and he must have decided to go check out my writing. I am seriously beyond pleased. It feels like all kinds of validation, because I do NOT have my newsletter behind a paywall, and I make that clear. If someone wants to pay to support me, they can, but they can absolutely subscribe for free and get exactly the same articles.
Just hugging myself with glee over here. What a Christmas present that was, and totally out of the blue.
My soundscape is already buzzing and whooshing, with the washer going. Need to get my coffee cup in the dishwasher and get that going. Might make myself a second cup of coffee first, which I don't usually do, but I've been up since 4:30, so there's that.
Later, my dears,
Love,
Lisa8 -
Lanette I am on your page in terms of how I eat these days. I continue to read and learn More about health. There is conflicting info out there so I weight the source and tweek things slowly now.
I think overall what I am doing is working for me. I have rarely gotten sick over the past two years and when I did it was a minor cold that only lasted a few days, no more sinus infections!, I recovered from my fall on the ice in two weeks versus the six weeks they said was the more usual recovery time.
Yesterday I had the strength and energy to clear a two car garage driveway, made a path for Drew, and cleared my son's house sidewalk and deck from a six inch snowstorm. I did it with shovels because it was a lighter snow not heavy and wet. I was tired after all that work and shoulder was slightly sore, so I did a chair massage. I did sleep the night and no leg cramps. Feel great today. I did drink my glass of water slowly straight away this morning and did exercises in bed before rising. Working on not sitting for long periods.
I have added a bit of mineral infused salt and made super yogurt. I made my own yogurt in a yogurt machine where I let it ferment for 32 hours with reuteri probiotic. I don't have SIBO which is what this recipe is supposed to help. There are other benefits to this yogurt so I am giving it a try. It is good for skin and sleep. It is a Dr. William Davis the author of Wheat Belly recipe. He is on YouTube and has a great personality.

Thank you Barbie for starting us off. This group is one of the highlights of my day ☺️
My grandson turns 1 today. The year went by so fast. We went over for a birthday dinner last night. I brought his brother a dragon from the movie How To Train Your Dragon which he loves, so he wouldn’t feel left out. He is almost 3. The birthday boy got some monster trucks and an outfit. Fun night.I actually look forward to Mondays. I enjoy work and love the 5 other veterinarians I work with. They are all really smart and there are no egos to deal with. I am very grateful to have found this part 2 to my career. I will see them all in January at our national meetings in Montreal. Always a fun catch up.
My swim was good yesterday. I took it slow as my body was tired from the day before. I do need to find some better goggles. The ones I use start to give me a headache after about 30 minutes. Any suggestions?
Rebecca- 199 🙌 🙌💥💥💥
Rita- How cool what Lucy can do. Our dogs barely respond to their names 🤦🏻♀️
Lanette- I had a client die from rabies in 2007. He was bitten by a bat that was hiding in his coveralls that his wife had brought in for the night. Didn’t think anything of it and burnt it in the burn barrel after he killed it. A neighbour who had grown up in S Dakota who had seen a lot of rabid animals told him that was not normal bat behaviour and he should get post exposure vaccination. He didn’t listen and died 6 months later. It took them a while to determine it was rabies as human cases are so rare here. That is why it is always at the top of my list with animals that aren’t acting right. Cows and horses tend to get the dumb form, rather than the aggressive. Often the first sign is the inability to swallow. So then what do we do? Stick our hands in their mouths to see what might be going on.
Rori- Welcome home.
Barbie- I had to look up Longyearbyen 🙂 I see it is on a Norwegian island and is the world’s northern most settlement with more than a 1000 people. I can imagine there are some dangerous creatures milling around there like polar bears 😬
Kay- I couldn’t load your picture either. Hoping you can repost it.
Machka- I am renaming my diet the “What Melanie likes to eat diet”. Love that. When people comment on what is on my plate- why is it that people feel the need to do?!- I will respond with… because it’s what I like to eat. Period.
Your monthly tracking is impressive. I am going to start a tracker in December. I think that I accomplish a lot more than I remember. And thank you for the book ideas. Always looking for good ones.
The Aquabike is a duathlon. I can no longer run because of my knee replacement. That’s ok- enjoy the other 2 sports just as much. I am trying to improve my breathing technique in the swim. I tend to only breathe to the left. Feels so awkward taking a breath to the right.Kim- Sorry to hear about your mom. We had to make a hard decision with my Mom years ago. I wish the circumstances could have been different for her.
Tracey- the hamlet of Beauvallon is where we pick up our mail. Very cool jammies!
Lisa- congrats on your subscriber. Very exciting to be recognized by another writer.
Take care of yourselves 💕
Melanie, Alberta

Machka - oops, in going back and reviewing this December thread, I see you already posted a GLP-1 foods list. Sorry, I didn't mean to step on you there, somehow missed your post. Good to see the articles agree on the GLP-1 foods.
Margaret - I've also started to drink a cup of hot water with a sprinkle of sea salt in it when I first get up. Then after an hour or so, the milky coffee then breakfast. Glad you weren't too sore from the shoveling. Beautiful Christmas painting.
Lisa - I like what you posted about this group being supportive of each other, no matter what path we choose in keeping and maintaining physical and mental health. We are all different, we were raised differently and have different genetics. So what works for one person in the weight loss realm, for example, might not work for someone else and that's OK. It's not a race or competition. Happy for you getting a paid Substack subscriber. 😁 Hooray!
Carla - seems like your employer has been moving your office around for years, and often into odd places. Don't blame you for looking forward to retirement. Hang in there.
Heather - that painting of Edie (yes, we recognize her) reminds me a little of a Modigliani. I'm amazed my brain pulled that out, it's been over 50 years since I took an art history class.

Happy First day of December, Girls!
Thanks, Barbie, for bringing us in for the last month of 2025!
This morning I worked in my pantry and got rid of some more expired canned goods. I noticed that I purchased many bottles of soy sauce, both low-sodium and regular. Gathered trash in the DS room. Need to start washing rugs and bedding for his room. I will wash my stuff first. It was so cold downstairs. My heat and AC will not turn on. I will need to call someone out soon. It is like the thermostat is not communicating with the HVAC unit. I did something stupid, and I don't know if I told you all about it. I signed up for a UV unit because they said I had mold in mine, but he lied. When I signed, I stopped and told him I might want to wait, because we were selling our house. I was too tired to catch the red flag that he would come at closing when we sold our house to make sure the purchaser would continue with the plan. So, they have a lien on our home. I do not trust these guys to come and fix my unit. Plus, my house caught fire during their installation, and it was never repaired properly.
Do not use Comfort Tech. I have the pictures. I don't see a warm-up in sight here. Thank goodness the Lien is not for much.It looks like I will be out of here in February or March. I believe it will take longer to get the new unit up and running for work. I don't know if what I was hired for will be opened before I leave. I will enjoy our babies before I go and help set up my little guys. I purchased Christmas sheets and blankets for their cribs. Next, we will decorate with Christmas lights, and Ace donates little trees to our patients. So, this will be fun! I got last night off, thank goodness, after the rough night Saturday. I had a teenager who was in a lot of respiratory distress. He kept taking off his O2, so I had to increase his oxygen. Then his temp got up to 102.6 axillary, so it was probably higher. The crazy thing was that they were in Houston, TX, visiting, and they had him in the PICU in Houston. The mom signed him out AMA and drove him to us. So, I wonder why he started on our floor? His clinical picture was totally different from the report I got from the ER. A 19-year-old developmentally Delayed kid should not be breathing 50-68 times per minute, and his heart rate was in the upper 180's, so we called a rapid response. I told the doctor what was going on, and she just told me to let her know what was going on after I gave Tylenol. I told her to come up and assess this patient. At first, PICU told me what to do, so I gave him a Bolus and got his antibiotic level drawn. Then, finally, PICU decided to take him for more intense treatment. Plus, I had a baby on the ventilator and a patient that I needed to do every 2-hour neuro checks. This weather change is not agreeing with these medically fragile kids.
After Rori's experience, I looked into becoming a flight Angel. Those gigs are hard to get. Plus, having to lift patients would be hard on my back. Rori, I am not surprised that you have PTSD from the trip. I hope you will get some rest and heal from the experience so that you can travel again.
Boy, can I talk! I will post again later on. I want to comment on what I read about you. Like Rebecca, Congrats on getting out of the 200's. I am right behind you. You look so good in your picture. Lisa, did you send a comment to the company about the "Little stoned people"? It sounds like they were as useless as tits on a bull.
Okay, time to get my washing machine going.

Hey ladies! Its hard to believe its December, but here we are! Thanks Barbie for starting us off on this challenging holiday month!
I have made Bailey's fudge for husband but its not setting well. Thinking I need to make fudge balls or something! I have cocoa powder.... Mix with a bit of powdered sugar and put the blobs in that?
Today I woke up to 198.6. Ok the scale is just toying with me now!
That makes 5.4 lbs lost the month of November. Definitely down from my normal 7 lbs but slow is better in my book.
Today we got ready to head to the gym at 7:15 am only to be met with a sea of cars heading on base. Nope said husband, so we came home. We went out again to laundromat dry cleaners because I am finally having a quilt professionally cleaned. Sister made it for me in 2013! Then mailed my middle son their Christmas box. Then to commissary (on another part of my city, base is split into two). I wanted a salmon onigiri, but the sushi guy must be off on Mondays. I am having a bag of cheesy broccoli instead. Dinner is cottage cheese, a seasoned boneless pork piece, and a protein shake. I normally fix my food at 4 pm so I am sipping my tea while husband is fixing his. I get a Built coconut protein bar too. Those are like a candy bar to me. I have yet to eat any of my Christmas candy.
Chatted with youngest son and found out his new plan. He wants to live in student housing at University of Washington in Seattle and study political science. He wants to be a politician. (um what son...🙃😁💖👍🏼). His Rinvoq med seems to be helping. Having less symptoms. Eating ok. He has a GI appointment on 11th, discuss biopsies done during colonoscopy last month. Maybe start the companion med, which is an infusion med. Definitely not able to come up in Dec, with that all happening. I figured as much. I still told him I feel like I dropped the ball Mom wise not being able to send a box to him or his eldest brother. He is in a void mail wise not really assigned to anyone, and eldest son is overseas so I thought he was coming home but no. I missed the mail time frame so it would not make it to him by Christmas. I might put one together anyways and he'll get it in Jan/Feb.

MFP Weekly Check-In 12-1-2025
Lanette in SW WA State - Weight staying in range. Steps avg. this past week: 7033, down a little from last week. Not walking so much after meals, but I’m walking outside more tending bird feeders and getting some fresh air. SWSY one or two times per week.
ANNOUNCEMENT - I've decided to put the Weekly Check-In on hiatus for the time being. Everyone is super busy this month, and you ladies have been great at posting stats in your regular posts if you miss the Monday noon cutoff.
Thanks to everyone who has been participating, I hope it's been helpful for you.
I'll see what the interest is after the first of the year.
Feel free to message or email me with any suggestions.
