I LOVE the crockpot cheeseburger with the 100 calorie sandwhich thins. Since McDonald's was the main staple of my diet before I found the motivation to go with all of my desire, there could not be a more perfect food for me!3

You can cook a whole chicken too. Just remove neck etc, wash and toss in the pot with whatever spices you desire. You get tender and jucy meat that is cheep and can be eaten and or added to other recipes.2

Beef casserole is a standard in my house..either eaten with pots etc or we like eating it with crusty bread (mmmm)
We have a croc pot in our caravan which we set to cook all day so we come back to it!
This recipe makes 6 and a portion is about 350 cals! Great to freeze too!
Stewing beef 1 kg cut into cubes
Onions to taste (I like loads..4-5)
Carrots (again to taste...I use about 6)
Butternut squash 1 medium peeled and chopped into cubes
4 beef stock cubes made up with boiling water
Herbs of choice 1/2 a- 1 tsp
Large dash of Worcester sauce
Salt n pepper
Put everything in the pot and top with boiling water to cover (or almost cover if you seem to have too much..it will still cook)
I sometimes add gravy granules if at the end it's not thick enough!
Enjoy!3 -

Braised Red Cabbage
Serves 8- 90 cals per portion.
1 head red cabbage, shredded
1 large red onion, sliced
1 large apple (or 2 small), peeled, cored & chopped
1 stick cinnamon (or 1-2 tsp ground cinnamon)
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp cranberry sauce
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
125 ml port or 250ml red wine.
Salt & pepper
water- to cover half way up.
Bung it all in the crock pot and cook for 2 hours on high, or 4 on low.
Excellent with Turkey at christmas, or with sausages & sweet potato mash, or duck breasts, or pork chops.... yummy! It is also delicious cold and will freeze.
tip- is lovely with fresh cranberries added, or pitted prunes.0 -
Beef Goulash Stew
Serves 4- approx 400 cals per portion

2 Carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
1/2 red pepper, sliced
1/2 green pepper, sliced
2 tbsp tomato puree
3 tbsp paprika
1 small bunch fresh parsley, chopped
Salt & black pepper
Sour cream, to garnish (1 tbsp per portion)
1. Brown off the meat & onions and put in the crock pot with stock, carrots, tomatoes and spices. Cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.
2. Add the peppers, tomato puree and season. Cook for a further 2 hours on low, or 1 hour on high.
