is it possible to gain weigh eating aproximately 1200 calories

    sure if you are eating the wrong foods I would think you could gain weight eating 1200 calories. Remember it isnt just about calories but the other things too such as sodium, sugar, fat ect... if you ate 1200 calories of nuts only you would have a ton of fat.. not gonna be conducive to weight loss.

    ah but unfortunalty that is not the case with me. I try to eat pretty healthy , decent protiens and veggies.

    Weight and fat are different things. You could lose fat but gain more muscle and end up with a higher weight, even on a 1200 calorie diet.

    I have lost 48 lbs on 1200 calories.

    Nope unless you are very small i.e. a dwarf with a BMR of <1200. Google Twinkie Diet to see that you can eat whatever and still lose weight. Healthy no, weight loss yes.

    and yet averageing around 1150 cals this week i gained about 4 pounds/????

    I think I would be tempted to eat my children if I was down to 1200 calories :laugh:
    Although I understand it works for some. In my perusal of the boards, I've noticed that others have experienced this very trouble and actually increase calories. It's important to expend more than you take in, of course. Mind you I'm relatively new here and there are other, more knowledgeable folks.
