HELP! Thanksgiving recipes-- esp gravy

Hi All-- I am hosting my first ever Thanksgiving at my house -- where the extended family is invited.
8 adults-- 5 teenage kids. I would love any menu/recipe ideas. I know that I can find thousands of recipes.. but, not sure what to put with what.. I have to limit some of it!

Most of all-- I DO NOT make gravy-- and quite honestly, not sure I want to try on Thanksgiving--cause what if it doesn't turn out ?
Can anyone tell me an easy.. and I mean easy-- idea for Gravy ? Am thinking of buying a jar gravy. .. is that horrible?

I personally don't think buying a jar is horrible. I buy them because it saves me time.

stay away from the jar... unless you don't wanna bother... I can teach you all you need to know to make a great and healthy Thanksgiving dinner!
