I see that horseback riding is already in the database, yay!
What about stall mucking / barn chores? How much calories do you think that would burn? I muck 3 stalls, empty / fill water buckets (no hose, I carry them), get a bale of hay down...It takes me about 30-45 mn in all. Anyone knows?

You could try logging that under cardio by selecting calisthenics.
  • I checked my LiveStrong app on my Iphone and its got
Animal Care for large farm animals at 3.4 calories a minute
farming, general animal care at 4.5 cal. a minute ,
baling hay 6.0 cal a min,
    chasing livestock 2.6 calories a min. ,
cleaning the barn vigorous 6.0 a minute ( same as cleaning a stall /corral) ,
forking bales of hay 6.0 a minute,
hauling water at 3.4 cal a minute,
grooming is 4.5 cal a minute... there are others that are not horse specific such as shearing sheep but its a good list.

If you look under Cardio, you can find stall cleaning under "cleaning stalls". Every little helps ;)

Wow! Thank you all! I'm still new at navigating the site here, I'll make sure I check all database entries next time. And yes, every little bit counts! Even cleaning house, right? That's one thing I hate doing (mostly because of the other 3 bipeds in my life who make all my efforts moot in record time) , but if I see it burns calories I'll do it, haha!

MTA Wehrlegirl, the "chasing livestock" line made me laugh!
