Quick question... My sister is breastfeeding and just joined this site. How does she know how many extra calories to consume for breastfeeding? And didn't there use to be a way to deduct calories when breastfeeding? Thanks!!!

search for 'Breastfeeding' in the food database and there's a couple of entries in there - gives negative calories and other nutrients.
She should allow 500 cals per day if baby is still feeding from her exclusively. Once s/he starts weaning use the number of portions to cut it down
