Going by MFP or your machine for calories burned?

I notice when I'm tracking my exercise on MFP the calories are always way more than what my treadmill/bike/elliptical/etc. says. I always go by what my machine says but I'm just curious as to what you guys think.
Thoughts?

i also go by what the treadmil or elliptical say, only beacuse you put your hands on the sensors and i think it takes a more accurate reading. I could be wrong though. I also like that it is less then MFP beacuse i'd rather be under my real calories burned estiment then over.0

I got an HRM and the Precor Elliptical I use actually picks up my heart rate from the chest strap and matches the 'calories burned' info on the HRM watch almost exactly. It's pretty cool.
Before I got the HRM though I'd go with what the elliptical said.0
