Somebody posted it on Facebook and I just finished watching. It was very well done and I feel like I need to do something to help. I'm sure not a ton of people will watch since its such a long video though.

Speaks negatively of our attention span, but the video has gone over 7.5M views in just a day and a half. That's not necessarily full-film views of course.

I wondered how long before MFP got this! Everyone make you own decisions on it, but please read round and don't just take everything at face value!

Before anyone starts accusing me of being for the crimes hes committed, i'm not, im just saying theres another side, mostly to the charity.

Very good video! I think the point is really to raise awareness on the situation. This has been going on for years and it needs to stop! What better generation than ours (the do nothing for no one unless it pertains directly to us generation) Now I am not saying that everyone should go and donate money if they feel that it may not be going 100% directly to the capture of Kony. However, I do think we need to wake up and see what is going on in the rest of the world.

A lot of people have said that the US has discovered that there is oil in that area so essentially it has become such a big movement because America now has more of an "interest" in that region because there is something for us to gain. I feel like this could be true, but at the same time if we can save people's lives also...I don't give a damn what the US can gain from "caring" I just don't want those kids having to go through that plain and simple.

At the end of the day WE AS A PEOPLE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!

Even if the Invisible Children is a scam, which I doubt, why is it so bad to spread awareness about Kony? It's not like you HAVE to give the charity money. One of their main requests in the video itself was to repost it where you can...which is free...I really don't understand how anyone can possibly think that it's so bad to spread the word and try to help all these children. I think the people that have negative views about the Kony 2012 movement haven't even watched the video lol. Guess there's haters for everything though :/

Just thought I should clarify, what I missed in my last post. I do support raising awareness, have shared the video and will probably do cover the night.

I'm going to do Cover the Night in my town, I'll probably be the only one because it's such a small place but hey, if I can get just one person interested, that's one more person aware. Plus I can get in some exercise running around town putting up posters lol :P

myfitnesspal Cover the Night Challenge lol

This is a great article on the campaign - http://justiceinconflict.org/2012/03/07/taking-kony-2012-down-a-notch/

And for the record I do think raising awareness is a great idea.....do I think it will change anything? Sadly no.

I think Kony 2012 is a tricky situation, and I don't think Invisible Children tells the whole story. I don't 100% agree with their tactics, but all in all I think it is a good cause and I'm willing to donate and see what happens.

I haven't had the chance to watch it yet, but wow is it getting a lot of attention, even by celebrities! I used to do some outreach and volunteering for Invisible Children in college, especially for their Displace Me event several years ago, and the cause did not get this much attention back then. Really awesome to see it happening now.

It's a terrible source. Invisible Children may not be the best organization now, but they brought attention to something that was largely ignored by the world for over 20 years.
