I apologize in advance if this is beating a dead horse. I've read so much on eating/ not eating exercise calories. How starvation is a myth, isn't a myth, etc. etc. I lose every week bu not as much as I think I should.

Opinion- if your average daily burn is 2,280 calories and your average intake is 1,200 calories, would you up your calorie intake by 200 calories? I'm thinking an extra protein & an extra fruit serving.

I would up it more than that - if you are burning 2280 from exercise and only eating 1200, you are way in the negative.
You could still lose, but I'd be pretty willing to bet you are probably losing lean mass as part of your loss....which is going to work against you. Not to mention the damage you are doing to your body by not giving it enough fuel...

I have done a lot of reading on here re: people in your situation and upping calories and their general "feeling of well being" goes up. Ie more energy, mind clear (no brain fog), stuff like that.

OMG I would die if I burned that many calories and only ate 1200. Eat them - eat them!!!!! I'm currently trying to shift a pesky pound I gained from a short holiday and I'm on BMR plus every single last one of my exercise cals and I'm eat up to 2000 cals a day. EAT!!!!

Good gravy, I would pass out only eating 1200 with that kind of calorie burn. Enter your data into MFP and eat what it tells you to, including exercise calories. If you can eat all of the exercise calories, at least eat some back.

OK, I'm going to try it. That 2280 is according to Fitbit so I assume it includes BMR + exercise. I'm going to the gym 5 days a week, approx an hr. of cardio & 1/2 an hr of strength training. So far it's telling me to eat 1,684. I don't think I'll eat that many but I'll eat more than 1,200. Happy day :)

    THANK YOU ALL!!!
