Coming back to the fold

I've been on MFP for a while now, but the last month or so I've been pretty much off the wagon. I've let life-drama get in the way of my fitness goals. I've slacked off on the gym and on my healthy eating, and I'm feeling crappy (both mentally and physically) because of it. I'm going through a divorce (albeit an amicable one), and I'm dealing with all that goes with it, in addition to having to move, dealing w/ lawyers and financial headaches, and still managing to do my job adequately while all that is going on.
Well, I decided to say enough is enough! I never felt better than I did when I was working out regularly and eating well. Earlier this year I took a 10 week, small group personal training class at my gym with a couple of girlfriends. I saw really great results and learned a lot from it. There's a new 10 week session starting tonight, and I signed up. I know I shouldn't be spending the money right now, but my mental and physical health are more important.
I'm really ready to get back on the horse and start taking care of myself again. No more excuses!
So anyway...I just wanted to post something that I can look back on later when I'm feeling unmotivated. Wish me luck!

Vanessa,
I think what you are doing for yourself is great. Life can be very stressful and as I can see you are going through a lot. Keep in mind the better you make yourself the more you can do in life. I hope that you get the results you want and don't let that soon to be ex. change who you are and who you want to be. Best of luck!0 -
The three best things to help deal with stress are exercise, eating a healthy diet and sleep. You are going through a lot right now and no matter how amicable the divorce is, it is still extremely stressful.
Take care of yourself. Pamper yourself if you can. Try bubble baths with soothing music and candles.
This will help to soothe you. The exercise class sounds like a great idea too.
Although it all seems rough now, understand that things happen for a reason and it will get better.0 -

Ha! No, it's actually one of those giant frozen drinks you can get in Vegas. It was mostly empty by the time the picture was taken though, so it's harder to tell. I can see where you get the bong thing though, lol!
