Hi all,

So i don't get to exercise that much (work long long hours and travel a total of 5 hours a day). I do TRY and fit in some exercise of course but i am focusing more on my nutrition at the moment and MFP suggests i eat 1220 net calories to lose 1 pound a week (i am 5 foot 3.5 and weigh 144 pounds at the moment).

Is this ok? I know on days i exercise i should eat more but generally once a week i will go out for a nice meal or have a take away and eat around 1800 calories on that one day so i'm guessing it should be ok?

thanks in advance x

That sounds about right. Try it for a couple of weeks and then re-assess.

I think that starting with just nutrition and calories is the best way! The first while of weight loss you will lose weight by just changing your calories. As weight loss slows then you can slowly increase excercise to give you a boost.
Of course it would be ideal if we all could exercise right from the start, but everyone has different schedules!
I lost my first stone purely by limiting my calories. This may not work for everyone but as long as you are prepared to commit to a long term diet change and that you won't lose quite as fast as others, cutting to 1220 will be fine!!

That should be fine, you could even go up to 1350 and still be at a deficit. I think if you are not working out you should not make it a goal to lose more than .5lb a week though.

It must be really hard to eat healthy being on the run so much!

I havent been exercising lately as I am sick! (It sucks) So I have been eating around 1300 cal a day and I am satisfied.
I used to eat 1200 and under when I started a week ago but it made me really sick.
