Help! I am 230lbs 5'2 so I am overweight by lots! my goals in life are to be able to job a 5K, but for now I will settle with running 1 mile. I have started the C25K, a few times but finding it hard where I can keep up. I feel like i can walk faster than I am jogging, like when I am jogging my whole body is in slow motion.
Has anyone started this program at this weight? Do you think I should hold off on trying this until I have lost 30 lbs or so?
HELP!!!

i'm in the same boat as you! practically same weight as you and i just started my first week.
i have never jogged before in my life! i know what you mean about slow motion when you are running. i think it's because i'm out of shape and way too heavy. i can say that today was a lot easier than the first day. i actually surprised myself. my 18 yo daughter runs long distances oftenand she just says i will get faster and develop more endurance but i have to keep at it. don't give up. add me and we can do this together!!0 -
I say keep at it (so long as you're not physically hurting yourself of course!), plenty of people have started c25k at your weight and higher, so don't let it be a reason to stop you!
I know what you mean about the slow feeling, I'm in week 7 and I still feel so slow, and my "brisk walk" stride is longer than my jogging one, so I feel like I'm walking faster (not that I get to walk anymore lol, all running now!) So I guess it's pretty normal, just keep on going, and if it's too much, go slower, or repeat a day or a week.
I can now run for 25 minutes without stopping - I never thought I could do that, and even now it doesn't "feel" like I can do it - but I do, every other day! It's an amazing feeling of achievement each and every time
Good luck!0 -

I started c25k 3 weeks ago in the high 220s-- seriously... you CAN do it. I asked the same questions before starting, and I put my best effort forward-- I AM doing it!0
