My son is gonna be 4 in a few months and I was thinking about getting him a reading system for his birthday.

I have looked into the Tag Jr, Tag, V. Reader.... ect ect....

Of course there are a lot of good reviews but there also a lot of BAD ones...

Any recommendations?!

My daughter is 10, but I got her the leap pad books & cartridges when she was about 3/4. She really enjoyed them. I have noticed there's a HUGE variety to choose from.

One of the things that I do when I'm researching a product, I'll look it up on Amazon and read the reviews. I did that when I was looking for a new coffee maker (yea don't ask), but I'm a HUGE nerd and got the glasses to prove it!

I bought my kids the Leap Pad movies (Letter Factory, Word Factory), and they loved them! With Letter Factory, they knew the sounds of every letter by watching it 2-3 times total. Word Factory helps them put words together and sound them out. We haven't really used any other systems. We just read with them and let them watch those movies a few times, and that worked for them. My 2nd grader is reading a full level ahead and my Kindergartener is reading easy books and can sound out some pretty long/hard words. My 4yo isn't reading, but he asked me yesterday to teach him, lol.

My son has a leap pad and that is what I was considering doing.
