Calorie Deficit?

Options
OK, I know that my mind is losing it (for lack of junk food), and normally, I am quite intelligent (until I started this diet), so I'm having brain farts now......what exactly does it mean (Calorie Deficit) in our goals section? See below an example of my goal:

Your Diet Profile Target
Calories Burned From Normal Daily Activity 2,200 calories/day
Net Calories Consumed*
Your Daily Goal 1,200 calories/day
Daily Calorie Deficit 1,000 calories
Projected Weight Loss 2.0 lbs/week

Your daily calorie deficit is what is being deducted from your day to lose 2 lbs in a week. To lose 1 lb a week, you need to cut your calories by 500, to lose 2 lbs a week, you need to cut your calories by 1000. Does that help?

This is how many calories you would have to eat a day to maintain your present weight--how many
calories your body needs just to keep going at your present weight

    Net Calories Consumed*
    Your Daily Goal 1,200 calories/day
This is how many calories you plan to eat every day

    Daily Calorie Deficit 1,000 calories
This is the difference between what your body needs to remain at your present weight(2200 calories)
and what you now intend to eat (1200 calories)

    Projected Weight Loss 2.0 lbs/week
How much you will lose it you eat 1200 calories a day based upon it taking a deficit of 500 calories a
day for a week to lose 1/2 a pound a week

    Hope this helps!

Thank you. So another words (speaking as if I'm 2 years old), 2200 maintains me. But 1200 is to lose 2# a week. Therefore I have that 1000 difference to lose that weight.

    2200 - stay fat like i am
1200 - to lose 2# a week to reach my goal
1000 - is the difference between the two....................duh

ooops--sorry, I mistyped--it takes 500 calories a day deficit to lose 1 pound not 1/2 pound like I originally typed.

It's ok, this dieting thing gives all of us the "brain farts".
