I'm really pleased, and maybe a little suprised, that I'm still doing C25K five weeks later. I haven't missed a day, although once I had to move a run to Saturday because of something conflicting on a Friday.
And, I have been able to do all the runs, so far. Tomorrow is the 20-minute interval, though, and now I'm actually a bit nervous. Don't know why - the worst that would happen is I'd not be able to do it. The world won't end if I run less than 20 minutes. LOL. If that happens, I'll just walk for five minutes and then try, again. And, then repeat that day on Monday.
I think I'll be able to do it, though. I may want to wear a watch so I can look at the time when I'm running. I rely on a phone app to tell me and I'd like to know how much time has elapsed.
After this, I think I'll feel like I'm actually running and I won't put "run" in quotation marks any more. LOL

This wass very helpful for me to read. I've been feeling very anxious about the 20 min - especially since day 2 wasn't that strong for me. But you are right - that's a good mindset to have.
Good luck with your RUN! (sans " ", lol)0 -

Thanks!
I want to be motivated - I want to push myself beyond the point of "OMG, I can't do this any more" but if I truly CAN'T, well... what does it matter?0 -
Please let us know how it goes. I have my W5D3 run tomorrow and I'm nervous, too. I did fine yesterday, but it's quite the jump from 8 minutes to 20!0

It was totally easy!!! I was so shocked. It was easier than the 5 minute intervals had been because I pretty much just forgot about the time. When my app told me "you are now halfway" was the worst because it made me aware of the time. But, I eventually forgot, again, and my mind mostly wandered on other things.
Not only was it easy, when the app told me I was done, I felt like continuing, so I ran another five minutes.0 -
Week 5 starts Sunday for me! Thanks for the inspiration!0

WOW!!! I can't believe I just ran 20 minutes straight!!! That's unbelievable!!!
WHOOOOooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooo!!!!!0 -

Fantastic, isn't it? I was so afraid of today and it was a doddle!0 -
Did day 2 yesterday - was surprised at how easy I found it, considering I struggled a fair bit through week 4. I'm really looking forward to the 20 minutes. Doing it on Thursday. Any advice?0

Just let your mind wander. Go plenty slow. The time will be over before you know it.0

Just completed Wk 5 Day 2 and I am SO VERY ENCOURAGED by all of you! This is a great program! I thank God for helping me through it!0

Oh I'm so glad I found this. i'm starting week 5 tomorrow, and each week I am nervous that I won't be able to do it, but gotta say that 20 minutes that's creeping up is really scary. but so far I've been able to keep up with everything and not repeat.0

I agree. I did week 5 day 1 today and I am really nervous about day 3!!0 -
From what I've seen (and experienced), most people find the 20-minute run easier than they'd expected. I know I'm not the only one who just kept on running for longer than 20 minutes.
For me, it seems easier to just run and forget about the time than to do shorter intervals.0 -
This is so encouraging! I did week 5 day 1 last night. I'm planning to do day 3 on Saturday morning-- I'm incredibly nervous. I can't even focus on day 2 because I'm so worried about day 3... lol0

tinana we're on the same schedule! I know what you mean about being scared of the 20!0

I guess my app on my phone is different than what you guys are doing. My 20 minute run isn't until the end of week 6 (which I'm thankful for!). I'm still scared to do it. I'm currently on W5D2 (which I was supposed to do this morning but woke up with a massive headace). We'll see how it goes! Congrats to all of you that have completed the 20 minute run!0

I repeated W5D2 this week because I was really struggling with the 8 mins. Planned to do another W5D2 again tonight before progressing, but strangely felt good and decided to push a bit past the 8 mins. I kept telling myself ''just an extra minute, just to the next intersection, just until the end of this song... '' and somehow ended up running 21 mins! The last time I remember running 20 mins straight was 7 years ago
Don't be intimidated by week 5, give it a try!0 -
Holy cow, I finished W5D2 today - Sunday morning is my 20 minute run! I'm seriously wondering if I can do this!0
