10 days in

10 days in and 0lbs lost! Average 1200-1500 calories per day. I started out hiking with a weighted backpack but it screwed up my shins. Only light walking this week

    Three things

Food - Measure everything... because estimating can mess your intake of calories up. You could be way under.. or way over.

Exercise - be careful when entering calories burned in to MFP. It over estimates alot. I have a heart rate monitor that breaks my calories burned down for me.. and MFP is always over! Always! So as you see that can be a problem.

Also are you eating back you calories burned?? There are some folks who dont and some folks who do, this is a big argument on most weight loss forums. But my theory is do what works for you... if you aren't right now try to eat some back. Because basically it's designed with your 500 calorie deficit already into you daily allowance of calories. So if you are supposed to be eating 1500 calories a day... then you burn 800, but dont eat those back you are netting 700 cals.

    hope some of this helps.

Are you drinking water? There was a really good thread on MFP about water last week. It was very informative and gave some explanations as to why we might "hold" on to our weight when we think we are doing everything right.

    Good luck to you.

And.. don't get discouraged. Since starting my journey I have already gained back more than I lost and back on track again. It will happen. :)

I`ve been good about logging everything that passes thru my pie hole. So far the foods I enter reflect the same calories as the package. That 1200-1500 calorie count is a net. Cardio this week has been tough with my self induced shin splints. I sometime forget I`m 44 and not 24. I`ve always had a slow metabolism. I`m sticking with it though. Shins are healed up so I can get back on the road in the morning. Thanks for the input.
