Rice vs. Rice

I love Target, and I love a lot of their grocery options. Such as, Archer Farms. I would say they are relatively healthy, and they have flavors and items you can't buy anywhere else! I get organic soups, snackable wheat crackers, all natural frozen dinners, whole grain breads, and indian-inspired rice blends from them. But I have a question about the rice! Now these are sealed packs, with 2 servings a piece, and you just microwave them for a bit to heat them up. My two Favorite flavors are "Coconut Cashew" & "Cashew Saffron", and before I checked the nutrition facts I was already assuming there wouldn't be much of a difference. Same package, same brand, same net weight, same servings [2] in each, both rice, both have cashews even! Facts are..

Cashew Saffron:
1/2 package = 300 cals
servings in pack, 2

Coconut Cashew:
1/2 package = 180 cals
servings in pack, 2

So my question is, how can they differ by so much? Saffron is a spice, if anything I would have expected the coconut to contain just a Bit more. So confused! Also, I've run into problems with mislabeled nutritional info before, so now I'm psycho with it. Eh. Any knowledge is appreciated! Thanks :]

Got to be something in the ingredients, maybe the saffron has more oil / fat added to keep the taste up? where the coconut can perhaps get away with just a bit of coconut for the flavouring?

I looked real quick with google and both are available on Amazon but they don't show the nutritional info or ingredients list so no real help, if you've got the packages you may see the difference.

Thanks! I will check them and re-post. Come to think of it, the saffron rice did seem more oily, but I wouldn't know for sure because I never buy that one anymore! Haha.

I will tell you, judging by your photo, that you should change your goal to be just exactly where you are and proceed to sustainment mode.

    Just an observation.

I don't know anything about these rices - as I haven't seen them in the UK where I live.

I would tihnk though that the cashews in the cashew and saffron contain a lot of calories. I love cashew nuts but have to limit myself. Maybe there are more calories from cashews than from coconut?

I originally thought the same thing, but there are cashews in both of them! I even considered that maybe they add More cashews to the saffron one because there is no coconut haha. I'm not sure. I'm still looking for ingredients.. but perhaps I will get the 2 of them next time at the store! They are wonderful,

I would probably say there are more cashews in the first one. Won't know till you find out what exactly is inside both of them.

I've had a ready made meal once and it tasted great. It was like a sweet and sour salmon, rice, veggies dish. You pop it in the microwave and it tastes great. I open it up and there is little to no salmon in it.

I've also been to restaurants and the main part of this dish I had was chicken. It said chicken on the title of the dish. Got the meal and there was probably 50g of chicken breast in the meal and probably 100g+ of rice v.v
