Hello!

I'm new around here, my name's Ashley! I heard it's harder to lose weight as you get older! (I'm 20!) So, here I am! Trying to lose between 25-35 pounds and make myself healthier! I hate exercising so this is going to be quite the challenge for me! What does everyone do for motivation?? Looking forward to making some new friends! :)

Hi Ashley - I don't think they mean 20 years old when they say 'older' - I think they mean people like me - 60, and yes it is harder as you cannot exercise the same. MFP will help you to lose your 20-30 lb - it is fantastic.

Good luck on your journey :flowerforyou:

  • Hi Ashley! I lost 30 pounds when I was 30 years old, now because of having another baby and poor diet I have gained 15 pounds back. Now I am 34 years old and I can't believe how much harder and more painful exercising is in just 4 years. When I was 30 I got on the elliptical for an hour everyday, now I get on for 10 minutes and I honestly feel like I'm going to die. So I am starting out on the treadmill to get myself back into shape, and every week I will slowly increase the incline so I can get my legs used to moving again. What keeps me motivated is the fact that my body lost the weight once before, so just knowing that makes me feel like I can do it again. I won't lie I hate exercising with a fiery passion, and I have a sweet tooth like you wouldn't believe, but I won't give up!!!
