Fit For LIfe/Eating For Life

My husband's doctor suggested these programs for him for weight loss. Has anyone had experience with them for weight loss and do you recommend them? He is strong and athletic but has a hard time with eating right and portion control....The program does not operate on calorie counting at all so I'm curious how people on here felt about that part of it, what recipes you liked, etc.

    It was the 1st program that introduced me to the concept of balanced eating with frequent smaller meals and the concept of an indulgent day or meal.It taught me how to pre-plan meals and I still use it as the base idea behind my eating. It is so easy to follow and never made me feel deprived. It's more a way of life than a *diet* IMO. Also, I've realized the accompanying workout plan, high intensity, shorter workout time was way ahead of its day. It's a brilliant plan for life! :drinker:
