Hey guys! I just wanted to see what everyone thinks about $70 every two weeks for two sessions. I want to get a personal trainer and there is one for $140 a month for four sessions a month? What do you think ok or don't do it? Thanks in advance!!

That's about average. Most are more expensive if you sign up for fewer sessions...like $45 for one session, $40 for 2-5, $35 for 5-10...something like that. So $35 a session for only 4 sessions is a good deal. If you think you will benefit and can fit it in your budget, go for it. But find out who they're certified with, how long they've been certified, what their specialty is (functional strength, athletes, special populations), and whether they've competed in anything. You want a trainer with a formal education, reputable certification, and years of experience. Someone who's competed in several shows, has multiple certifications, and a degree in something related will be much more helpful than a 19 year old who just paid the $400 and took one test after graduating highschool.0

another tip on trainers...don't pay them to watch you do your cardio workout. plan to do your time on the treadmill or elliptical or stationery bike on your own time. plan the time with the trainer to be stuff you don't know how to do yourself.
30-minute training sessions cost less and can be very effective.
best of luck!0 -
Mine is 60$/per 60 minute session, but he comes to my house and trains me in the privacy of my home.0

She said the price was $35 a session. The sessions are one hr long so I thought once a wk was good. So four sessions a month for $140? Thanks for the replies! I don't know how much they usually go for. Plus, I have to make an 11 month commitment. But if something happens I don't lose those sessions. PLus you get buddy workouts. So my hubby can come with me to workout with her. I have to ask about the certification b/c its through the military gym, thanks for that. I didn't even think to ask how long.0

I PAY $25 PER SESSION (I HOUR), TWICE A WEEK AND HE COMES TO MY HOUSE WITH ALL EQUIPMENT NEEDED. WORKS OUT GREAT.0
