NAHS Hike-a-Thon for Cooperar Peru!
NAHS Hiking Club Presents: Hike for Hope
A Month-Long Fundraiser for Cooperar Perú
December 7, 2025 – January 7, 2026
This winter, the NAHS Hiking Club invites our school community to lace up their boots and hike with purpose. After traveling to Peru and spending time with the children and families supported by Cooperar Perú, our students returned inspired and determined to give back. Cooperar Perú is a community-led organization in Cusco that provides educational support, nutrition, and safe enrichment programs for children in underserved neighborhoods—opening doors to learning, leadership, and brighter futures.
To help sustain their work, we are launching Hike for Hope, a month-long hike-a-thon where students can gather pledges per mile and raise funds for Cooperar Perú’s children’s education initiatives. Every dollar raised goes directly to the organization—100% of proceeds support Cooperar Perú.
Event Timeline
- December 7 at 4:00 PM – Kickoff Sunset Hike at Stone Mountain
We’ll begin the fundraiser together with a community sunset hike celebrating our partnership with Cooperar Perú and the start of our month of giving. - January 4 (Time TBD) – Group Hike at the Bamboo Trail
As we approach the final days of the hike-a-thon, we’ll gather again for a reflective hike at the Bamboo Trail, honoring the work our students have done and the impact the funds will make. - January 7 – Final Day to Log Miles & Pledges
Students can hike individually or with friends all month long. Every mile counts toward meaningful change.
Why We Hike
Our time in Peru showed us the incredible spirit of the children and educators at Cooperar Perú. Their dedication to providing academic support, healthy meals, and a safe community space left a lasting mark on our students. This fundraiser is our way of continuing that connection and supporting the vital programs that empower young learners in Cusco.
Join us in taking steps—literally—to make a difference.
