NSV -- BUT Ankle pain after running
Hi everyone So as my 5K is coming up very soon, I decided to change my tactics for training this evening. Instead of attempting to run 28 minutes straight.... I told myself that I would stay on the treadmill until I had gone 3.1 miles -- Both to see that it wasn't actually as long as I'd been thinking, and to just get a…

flank pain?
I'm quite sad. I have been experiencing some left flank pain and have discovered it starts with a jogging session and then won't go away unless I rest for 2 or 3 days  It really hurts at night when I roll over in bed. For awhile I thought maybe I just need a new mattress but no, it's the jogging. I don't want to stop…

I think im loving the run now!!
I have to say i am already finished with week 9 and i am doing week nine over again. Where do you go after that? i been just staying with it becasue it is still alittle challenge to run the whole 3 miles at times so my goal is to keep it up til i lose the weight. I have to say though i NEVER thought id hear myself say I…

When do you run?
I am a mom of 4 and a teacher. I am having a VERY hard time trying to find time to run. I have tried to run in the morning, but 5am is early and I cannot drag myself out of bed. Lots of excuses - too cold, too dark, too many encounters for wildlife...I have ran a few times in the evening (after 8) but that's hard too. When…

Play List
Whats on your playlist while you run? I have a playlist of Marine Cadences and I love listening to them while I run. They make me smile, help regulate breathing and give me a consistent beat to run, walk to.

Adding sessions to my exercise log
Hey there, no doubt a newbie question but I did a search on the exercise thing for c25k and couldn't find a thing and so had to add each part individually. Am i looking under the wrong heading?!?!?!?!?!

Is this normal...?
I did my first day of C25K yesterday--it felt so good! I was feeling like I could keep running longer than the 1 minute interval but I tried to keep myself to the structure. Structure makes me happy. :P I'm doing it on the treadmill rather than outside, because we just got our first dump of snow this weekend and it's no…

Knee Injury - Advice appreciated!
Anyone else experience any injuries while doing C25K? I admit that I was running every day instead of every other day (because I was previously a runner and have never had any trouble running every day), but I was fine doing 5 days of week 1, w/one day off, 5 days of week 2, w/one day off and then on day 2 of week 3 my…

Speeds for Treadmill
What do you set the speeds on the treadmill for your runs and walks? I am thinking of starting this today but don't know where to set the speed. Thanks!

Treadmillers
I am doing C25K on the treadmill. I did W4D3 this morning. Week 4 went pretty well and overall I think I am doing pretty good. I have signed up for my first 5K on Dec 11th and I am so excited/nervous about it. I don't really have any opportunities to run outside so I am worried that I will be in for a rude awakening when I…

your arms....
I noticed I tend to hug my right arm firmly to my body while jogging while my left arm pumps back and forth. Is this weird? What do your arms do?

Week 1 Day 2..
Normally I try really hard to get my work out in first thing in the morning. I wake up, get some work out clothes on, tie up those shoes and then the first second I get to head out I do it.. sometimes I spend a couple hours in my work out clothes before I get the chance, but that is the life of a new mom. Today I didn't…

Week 1, Day 1
I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE running, but only because I suck at it.. I am very competitive.. and I have started a strength training program and needed to add some cardio to it.. I decided to do the couch to 5k because I want to LOVE running.. I had my first session today and I am happy to report I stuck with it.. I was winded,…

Can I get an "Atta girl!"?
Wow! I feel so great! My very first NSV happened today! I'm taking my time on C25K and spending 2 weeks on each week... Today was Day 2 of W1D2, and even though I've been skipping running intervals, or not running the entire interval, I ran EVERY interval today, and didn't walk AT ALL during any of the running intervals! I…

Run/Walk calorie burn
Hi everyone! I'm in my second week of C25K and was blown away by a 3.5 # weight loss this week! :) What I am trying to figure out is how to accurately log my calories burned on MFP. I have been putting in the total minutes of jogging and the total minutes of walking. However, I know that doing high intensity intervals…

new to the group
Hi! I'm new to the group. My name is Adriana and a secret life long dream is to run in a marathon. I may not make it to something as big a the NewYork, Boston, or Chicago marathon, but none the less would like to experience running in a 5K or 10K. What's held me back is being able to breath properly, since I have asthma,…

Week 8 is done...
....and I must say, it kinda kicked my butt. I think the fact that turning the clocks back last weekend played a big part in how I have felt about my runs this week. I am always amazed at how much just that one hour (in either direction) throws me off. So, Monday will be the start of Week 9. I'm excited to start the last…

Anyone else get frustrated when you have to stop running?
I'm in week 4, and I'm annoyed when I have to walk for 2 1/2 minutes. I totally don't think I could run 20 minutes straight yet, but I can't wait until I'm done with the run/walk intervals! Just wondering if anyone else feels the same. Also, I need to learn to start running back when I'm halfway through. I always end up…

Hey, I put some new shoes on...
I used to be one of THOSE people, buying shoes that were cute and were reasonably priced. Last night, I got fitted for a new pair of running shoes and I have been converted! I unexpectedly left with a pair of Nikes, but the sales guy looked at the wear on my current shoes, had me walk barefooted to see my stride, and had…

Anyone else on the first week? I think I am going to like this program. I am enjoying reading everyone's tips and comments on it. I have always wanted to be able to run but my asthma and hardly any fitness training. Cannot wait!

Hello!
Thought I'd post an intro thread. :-) Hey everyone! I'm Mandi... 24 & mom to a 2 1/2 year old boy. I also babysit another 2 year old about 50 hours per week! I recently started couch-to-5k and I'll be doing week 2, day 2 tonight. I have a fitness center at my apartments that is 24-hours, so I go down there once the kiddo…

Newb questions
I recognize some faces from my forum thread asking if this program is right for me...you've all convinced me to give it a shot! As some of you may have noticed, I tend to overthink EVERYTHING. I find that if I plan things out perfectly there is much less chance of my cheating, or being creative with my thinking when I…

Walking speeds/ running speeds
I'm starting C25K next week on my treadmill. I don't run. Not very often. And not often enough to know how fast running should be. So is there a certain speed (like say 6 mph) I should be running at? And how fast should the warm up walk be vs the walking after the run should be?
