Several years ago I lost 100 lbs. I went to the doctor because I developed a huge varicose vein in my upper thigh/groin area. I was told it was quite normal in people who lose a large amount of weight...that basically, all the fat was supporting your veins and now it's not anymore. That is NOT something that I ever…

I take a prescription potassium supplement because one of my medications contains a diuretic that depletes my potassium. If I didn't have great insurance and OTC would be cheaper, I'd buy it OTC.

To not die far too young. Also to weigh less than my husband.

I was cooler when I was thinner, but I was also younger. Trust me, menopause is no fun.

I had strawberry shortcake for the 4th. Those little cakes are 60 calories. Strawberries - 1 cup = 48 calories. Fat free/sugar free cool whip - 3 servings because I like it a LOT = 60 calories. Total of 168 calories and worth every bite. Take out the cake and you're down to just over 100.

My husband suffers from IBS with diarrhea. His doctor has him taking Metamucil 3 x per day. Fiber is supposed to regulate, which means it'll speed things up if constipated, slow things down if loose. OP may just have to wait it out. Things should regulate after a while.

I'd say keep it couples and families and really if you remain friends will largely depend on the wife. If she can't get past the "old girlfriend" thing or has trust issues with her husband...there's not a lot of chance there. Better to cut all contact than to have their marriage made more rocky.

Okay...I tend to stay away from these chit-chat threads, but I clicked on yours (truly - to see if anyone corrected "advise", sorry) but I can't believe that I have a very similar situation. I have a very old boyfriend - that is to say we met like 1987 or so...we dated on and off for quite a while. He would never settle…

↑↑↑This.↑↑↑ Do you eat pasta and tomato sauce? Do you eat potatoes? Do have you tried potato-like vegetables, like sweet potatoes, turnips, winter squash? Give us more than - I hate them all. Are there any you can stand even the slightest bit?

How about raw and crunchy and dipped in stuff? Baby carrots with peanut butter is a favorite of mine, or fat free ranch dressing. Cucumbers? Tomatoes? Do you eat pasta with tomato sauce? Try adding zucchini or broccoli chopped small and cooked in the sauce. I used to hate cabbage and Brussels sprouts, but I like them…

But what about Snickers? Those commercials swear that Snickers really satisfy!

I lost 100 lbs on WW about 10 years ago. I did gain it back, but in fairness to WW, that was because I went back to my old, bad, habits of overeating and eating junk instead of paying attention to my diet and exercise. I think it IS a good program and yes, it does work as well as calorie counting does.

I'm 5'10', currently 285, 53 years old, and sedentary. I get 1900 (set by a dietician, but MFP gives me like 1911 if I let it do the calculation) and I DO eat my exercise calories or most of them, on top of that. I have averaged about 1 lb a week, more or less.

@LittleHearseDriver thanks for the thread. It was very entertaining. 25 pages is a pretty good run! All the best to you!

My doctor put me on Metformin when my a1c was 6.5. After 4 months it was 6. I haven't been back yet for the next test. She also told me it might help me lose weight. I actually gained a few pounds at first. It's done NOTHING for my appetite. But, that's not what it's for...it's to lower your a1c. 1200 calories is pretty…

I don't call it a cheat day or cheat meal...because this isn't a game. I can't call it "no logging" because I log it, no matter what it does to my weekly average...BECAUSE of what it does...I want a record of it. So I call it a *kitten* it meal/day. Sometimes you've got to say *kitten* it.

Not to be a smartass, but isn't this a lot like, "I poured a cup of water into a bathtub full of water, then drained half the tub. Did I drain the cup of water I poured in?"

Raw with hard boiled egg, bacon, cashews, dried cranberries, red onion and honey mustard dressing (or a vinaigrette - but I prefer the mustard dressing).

The one and only craving I had while pregnant was diet coke. I was thrilled my doctor said I could have it in moderation. I had one pretty much every day for the last 6 months of my pregnancy and one cup of coffee with Sweet & Low. As an infant and child my son was pretty consistently in the 90th percentile for height and…

I've been on Metoprolol for many years and I do have a slow heart rate. As I sit here, my Fitbit is telling me my resting heart rate is 49. It makes me CRAZY that I exercise and I get a short burst of "fat burn" rate or "cardio" but then it tapers off to "out of zone" and thus Fitbit gives me fewer exercise calories per…

First, congratulations. I quit before Thanksgiving...but have quit off and on, sometimes for months or years, before. It's hard. It's worth it. Vaping just seems to be trading one habit for another to me, so I did cold turkey. The one time I missed it most was when I was driving. My trick was a drinking straw cut to the…

I have one and I like it. Is it accurate? Well, it's accurate enough for me, is the best way for me to answer that. Of course, I've never really tried to set my stride length and such, to make it more accurate. I suggest you check this: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

I hope this shows up. Forgot about youtube being an issue.

I'd never heard of a couch stretch and it's really hard to find examples of people using actual furniture as opposed to a wall. Since you don't want to get down on the floor at work, I did find this: https://youtube.com/watch?v=IioW8A3fgW0 About half way through. Not for your legs, but I know you need these. Thought I'd…

You are absolutely right. If the OP was serious, I do apologize for my sarcastic comment. But, as a person who's had to use ice packs on various spots frequently, I assure you, the fat is the one thing it doesn't help.

And Walrus. They lay around on ice all the time. This actually may work. I mean, once the doctors chop off the frost bitten tissue and do skin grafts she may be a tiny bit smaller...right?

I'm 53 years old and I've never been a "normal" weight. Well, at birth and as a young child I suppose...but not otherwise. Thinnest I can remember being was 185 for about a second when I was 21, after I had surgery that removed a 20 lb cyst (honest to God, 20 lbs) and I rapidly gained 20 lbs and was back over 200 again. At…
