  • Tea with organic stevia, lots of fruit as other suggested & just avoiding it as much as possible helps me. I allow myself a bit of chocolate or a sucker almost every day. Knowing I can have a small amount helps. The struggle is real. I'm all about candy. I could eat so much, every day. It really does get easier, I promise!…
  • There are a million theories on this. Fasted cardio, timed protein ...yada yada. I think really it all just depends on what works for you. Personally, I like working out on an empty or at least light tummy. I do a fair amount of cardio and having a full belly while I'm bouncing around makes me feel yucky. For others, not…
  • This was the results from my very first 60 day round. I only did insanity.
  • I've completed it 3 times and am working on a 4th, I'm in week 1 of month 2. It's hard. You won't keep up, but neither do the people in the video. But if you eat at a deficit you will see results. I didn't see huge numbers moving on the scale until month two - which from what I hear is kind of normal. Don't give up. I was…
  • I do PiYo! I've been wearing my heart rate monitor though I know it's not 100% accurate it's a close estimation. Today it says I burned 201 doing buns! It told me 341 during drench last week. When I was doing just upper and lower it was significantly less since those are short and not much cardio involved.

  • If you don't currently have time to run but want to get back in it when you do I found that keeping my cardio up is important. You can have the strength in your legs to run for days but if your cardio isn't still in good shape then it's really hard! I think that's why I used to hate running, I never did much cardio so when…
  • 4lbs in 3 weeks is pretty good. So you could stick with it for sure. I don't know a lot about weight lifting programs so I'm not the best for advice in that aspect. From my understanding it does burn less calories, which if you're trying to lose fat you need a calorie deficit. I have comepleted insanity and can say from…
  • ^^this. I feel awful bouncing around with a full belly. Also if I don't do it earlier in the day I won't do it. On a side note, insanity is a pretty intense program, I'm not familiar with body beast but it the name itself sounds like it may also be a hard workout. Be careful that you don't over do it and hurt yourself - or…
  • Another vote for insanity - the month one work outs I typically burn between 400 & 550 calories and month two exercises I burn as much as 700! It's HARD and you won't be able to keep up, especially at first but it's an awesome work out. I love Shaun t as a motivator I should add I am NOT a beach body sales person. Just…
  • I do specific work outs 6 days a week - typically running 3 days and strength 3 days and on Sunday's I "rest" by no means am I sitting around all day, this time of year that often includes ice skating, sledding (which means waking up hill a lot) or some other activity. I always take some time for good stretching on rest…
  • A second for the polar ft4 it's relatively cheap and easy to use. Tells you time, length of work out, heart rate and calories burned. I love mine :)
  • I have a hard time with this, I make healthy dinners but not matter how much or how little I eat the rest of the day I want to go crazy at dinner. Pre-logging for a large meal helps. I love the recipe importer so I can know exactly how many calories are in a serving of what I'm making, and how much a serving size is. I…
  • Water water water! That will help! Make sure that you are getting proper nutrition to keep your skin healthy. If you lose the weight at a good healthy pace it shouldn't get too bad. On a side note, I tried Arbonne's skin firming body cream on my tummy and butt/upper thighs when I lost weight the first time and I felt like…
  • I always hated running and never thought I would like it, now I need it. I wish I could run every day but "they" say not to do more than like 4 a week. Also...runners poop. TMI maybe but for me if I don't time my meals properly at about 3.5 miles I always have to poop
  • This all depends on your size, age gender & goals. I am 5'3", 28 year old female, MFP had me at 1200 calories (if I put myself as sedentary, which I'm not) to lose 1lb per week. Depending on how hard you push yourself you can burn between 500 & 800 calories in an insanity work out. If I only ate 1200 calories I totally…
  • You need to eat those 1200. Are you exercising? Would it make you feel better if you saw an excess of 600 calories at the end of the day. Push yourself to work out and burn those 600 and then you'll feel no guilt eating 1200. I've gone in phases where I had to see a certain amount in green at the end of the day and to keep…
  • Thanks so much guys! I got a pair of cold weather tights this morning - I already had some moisture wicking shirts and layered one of those under a light jacket, with a hat (I think I would like a headband better), lite gloves and went out this afternoon. It was an unusually warm day for January - 37 degrees. Wow, running…
  • Click on your Fitbit adjustment in your diary, then click on the number again and it will go to this page.
  • Mine started working again this afternoon! @Erinkidd01 you should just eat the number of calories mfp gives you unless you are doing a work out then add that in manually. :)
  • Ugh, I LOVE peanut butter. Such sweet creamy goodness. :) I hate that it is relatively high in calories for such a small portion! I have a PB&J or a slice of toast with PB on it just about every day. Measure it out, log it accurately and if it fits in your calories no problem.
  • I'm having trouble too. It shows that I've taken 0 steps on MFP today and yesterday. When I log into the Fitbit app it shows my food and everything recorded from MFP though. I tried disconnecting the account and reconnecting with no luck. Also deleting the app and reinstalling. No luck yet. Really frustrating!
  • I'm on day 11 of PiYo. After doing insanity it is SO slow paced! I kind of like it because I wanted something low impact after pounding my body with insanity but I'm not sold on it yet. I really love Shaun T as a trainer. I'd go insanity or T25 if you like cardio
  • These are my results from the first 60 day round incompleted. Scale wise, I didn't lose as much as I wanted but I lost a ton of inches and my cardio endurance has never been better. :) perhaps you need to push yourself harder or focus more on calorie intake.
  • I did steamed green beans and a roasted garlic quinoa (it was from a box) I had more green beans than quinoa and came in at 569 calories for a pretty filling meal! :) I also made a skinny chicken alfredo last week that was really tasty! This is the reciepe - I used fat free milk and 1 serving (recipe makes 4 so it was a…
  • I made a pretzel crusted mustard chicken the other day. SOOOOOO GOOD! Mix 2 tablespoons low fat or olive oil mayo with about 2-3 tablespoons mustard and spread it on your chicken then roll it in some crushed up some low fat pretzels (mix in ground mustard seed with them for extra flavor) and bake! My kids (2yrs and 4yrs)…
  • My calorie goal is 1350 but I try to stay around 1200 unless I work out. I have an open diary and you are welcome to message me for recipes and ideas. It's easy once you find some good filling recipes to work with! :)
  • I'm on day 11. I really like it so far. A few of the workouts are short and so I've been adding in a little extra on those days. I had been pounding my body doing insanity and needed something challenging that wasn't so high impact. PiYo seems to be a good fit!

  • I bought a polar ft4 heart rate monitor off amazon for pretty cheap last year. With that kind of work out it won't be 100% accurate but it gives you a pretty good idea :)
