  • That was my plan when purchasing a home, & did set up some weights/mats in the basement that I use occaisionally. BUT it would cost way too much to get good quality cardio equipment & this time of year it's too dark/cold for me to go outside. So $10/month for Planet Fitness is totally worth it! I don't always like going…
  • I think they're worth it! You can make noodles with sweet potatoes & carrots too. You will not feel like you ate actual pasta but it can still be tasty. You can eat a lot more of it to feel more full (without the bloat/carb coma afterwards!)
  • You could always find recipes online & print them onto cards & give a little recipe card holder as a gift. Or type them, print out & bind it in a clear cover. It would add a personal touch!
  • Yes, there are some salt-less seasonings like Mrs. Dash! You can play with different spices too. I like curry, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder. Those will definitely add flavor without the salt. This might be weird but I have heard nutritional yeast can be used like a seasoning. I just bought some but haven't tried it…
  • It makes veggies really easy if you like them cooked. Green beans & chopped ham only takes a few minutes (I did that for xmas dinner). Turkey meatballs are really simple. You can pretty much saute any veggies, brown some meat, add some sauce (like pasta sauce or Indian curry sauce). I was hesitant to make chicken at first,…
  • Cook outside? :D Might be a fun adventure! Reheating leftovers might be a different story...
  • 6'2" here - goal weight 180-190, haven't really lost any yet. There are a couple Tall Women groups you can search for but also feel free to add me!
  • Been there sort of. Just be up front & ask if he would like to talk about anything. Or next time he asks you questions, ask if he has any reason to think you were up to something. It's all in his head, but if you are willing to be open & talk about it, it might make him realize there is no threat to your relationship. Make…
  • Aw man let's get this place back to life!!! I'm 6'2". Feel free to add me! I'll try to think of an interesting post for the group lol.
  • Don't worry so much about size! I have kind of stalled out at around 12/14 sometimes higher. As @lalepepper said, usually us taller women have wider bone structures (some don't) but that requires a bigger size. I am 6'2" & I think even if I lost a ton of weight, I'd still be about a size 8. Even as a teen I was in bigger…
  • Same here! I don't think the wrist measurement has anything to do with it really.
  • Me! Next June. I'd like to lose about 20 lbs by then, or at least trade some fat for muscle. My dress comes in October & alterations in January...so it'll be the struggle not to gain it all back during the holidays! Definitely a little stressful. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, so it seems like why not now??
  • I did for a while but it left me too foggy/confused to function in the AM at work haha. It did work for shedding some lbs though!
  • I love the biscuit things from Nature Valley, I have one just about every day for breakfast! There's no such thing as a good or bad snack if you're fitting it into your daily calories
  • Silicone tends to soak up smells, I think. I have a coffee mug with a silicone lid & if I wash it with the smelly soap at work, I can smell/taste it on the lid. Maybe switch to a less-fragranced soap or dishwasher soap?
  • Have you tried protein powder that is plant-based? I just saw some at Walmart for $10 that I'm going to try since whey sometimes messes with my stomach. I'm sure the taste isn't the greatest, but it could help!
  • I have been researching "the pill" in general & my doctor said there are just SO many different types of pills, it's kind of a crapshoot to find one that works best for you. I know you said the one you were on before had some side effects so you switched, but can you ask your doctor if you could try one with similar…
  • Old Navy's sizes are BS - always have been. I am tall, weigh about 200 lbs & I have size 12-14 pants from them. I hate them anyway, because they stretch out SO much while you wear them, by the end of the day I need a belt. I like their tops because they have tall sizes & I can wear med/large. The men's tall sizes run small…
  • That sounds like a great start! I am actually trying out vegetarianism for a while & it's been an interesting adjustment so far. I'll add you :)
  • I think it depends. It does sound low to me, because I was about that size in middle school lol. I think I'm kind of average build & at 6'2" & 170 would probably be my lowest goal weight. If you search online, there are a bunch of calculators, but 135 at your height sounds like it's definitely on the low end, even on the…
  • Try spreading out your calories, or eat smaller meals more often. I am constantly hungry too, even with coffee! If you snack, make sure it's something good like carrots or other veggies, maybe some wheat crackers, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruit or other stuff that isn't high in calories & will keep you from feeling super…
  • Skillet meals & casseroles are where it's at! If you have an actual skillet, just add your chicken/whatever, brown on stove & put in the oven for a bit. Same for casserole, just add all the ingredients & stick in the oven. I'm partial to chicken/spinach/potato but you could really add any veggies. Tacos/fajitas are really…
  • @eep223 I think you might be right! I just got up to walk around & it does feel like I'm kind of trying to keep my shoe on as I walk by bending my toes. Eff being in between sizes, I can't win! Definitely looking for new shoes though.
  • Not sure if I am or not, but my goal weight right now is about 180 as well. I think a lot of tall women are not built to be stick thin. Even at my smallest, I was about a size 10 & I'm totally OK with that. Realistically I could be about a 10-12 at 180 but I don't care so much about the number on the scale as long as I…
  • I'm 6'2" feel free to add me!
  • The mayo is GROSS. Got that by mistake once.
  • I live in MD as well & I like PF better than Gold's. Gold's (at least in my area) has a reputation for being overpriced & also a gathering place for meatheads lol. But see if you can get a tour of both places when you would likely be there. Sometimes you can also attend the classes by paying for them at Gold's so you can…
  • I can normally bake a pan of chicken, roast some veggies, & make some rice in about an hour. Just trim the chicken breasts & put them in a pan with some kind of sauce (asian, BBQ, etc). Chop up veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, brussel sprouts, & pan roast with some olive oil & seasoning. Rice cooks in rice…
  • Yes! Feels like it's time to hibernate lol. I noticed my cat even started eating more now that it's cold (he lives indoors & is already on a diet) so maybe it's just an old survival instinct. Soup is a great idea, or homemade chili. You can make either of those really healthy!
  • I did Week 1-2 pretty well over June/July but stopped going to the gym altogether after that! Any muscle I gained is probably gone & I gained back the weight I lost too. I feel chunky. I may buy the Kindle edition of Strong Curves because I couldn't find all the workouts online, that way I can really get into it & follow…
