  • More love for Garmin here!
  • Saddles are such a personal thing that it's difficult to recommend anything in particular. The Specialized BG range always come out well in reviews, and I've always found them comfy but padded shorts really are the way to go. Even cheap ones work well and give you an idea if you want to invest a bit more as you progress.…
  • Yup. The Android app doesn't work, the web version doesn't work because of a stupid invite your friends advert that is stuck in a loop that doesn't work either and STILL nothing can sync to MFP at all. This isn't just *kitten*, this is full on *cat*.
  • It's a fault with MFP. I hope it's fixed very soon, it's very frustrating!
  • I do. All my activity is tracked with a Garmin, personally I've found that if I log everything and let Garmin/MFP adjust the calorie goal, I lose as forecast. Or, did, until MFP developed this annoying issue where it won't sync with external websites anymore.
  • Well done, that is an awesome loss!! Read back on what you've achieved again, that is spectacular. If you're feeling really discouraged then maybe maintain at that weight for a couple of weeks, give yourself a break but just know you won't be able to maintain that rapid loss as you near goal so you need to set yourself up…
  • I have loads of failed attempts, I have more "This is the one" sequels than star wars. But, this attempt actually IS the one!
  • Well done, that's a fantastic loss!
  • Also in the Sarf East :)
  • Hi all, joined here after reading some very inspirational words on the forums from NovusDies. I've been at this a very long time, IRO 12 years I think. I wouldn't describe myself as a yo-yo dieter but I do follow a similar sort of pattern of committing to a calorie deficit then falling off the wagon and rocketing back up…
  • Hope you don't mind, but I've copied your posts into my weight loss diary to refer back to. There is an awful lot of sense in your words which may just help me crack the final piece of my puzzle.
  • Thank you for that, good to know. It can feel like a very long, dark road at times with cheese and bread monsters lurking in the shadows!
  • Thanks for that, I'm sure that is part of it. I do need to put a lot of thought into this and try to ascertain what's holding me back.
  • Thanks very much for that, I will certainly give those a lot of thought. I particularly like the idea of the goals themselves being the goals in a way. I've been working towards mini targets for a long time now, but breaking them down even more into the specifics sounds a very nice idea. Although I don't want to change…
  • Thank you both, much appreciated. Just to be clear, I've never hit goal, I don't even know what it really is, I'm sure I was born fat. But, I do have numbers both short and long term that I'm working towards. I do weigh every day (tracked on libra) and log it once a week. That is one area I could probably improve on - if I…
  • Thank you for that, I think you could well be on to something. One of the (many) things I tried was to write down the reasons for losing weight to give me some focus. And, I didn't really come up with much. The usual reasons were being fitter and vanity etc but I couldn't come up with very much. Could be linked to a low…
  • I can demonstrate how to smash it hard for 3 months, do really well and then fall off the wagon back to square one. I'm really good at that, I have years of experience. So, probably not much use!
  • Every day, logged on libra app then change it once per week on here.
  • In theory, but as your weight gets lower, the deficit required to maintain that weight loss becomes too low to be sustainable or healthy. I'm sure MFP recalculates your calorie goals as your weight changes anyway, just enjoy the hay days of fairly rapid number dropping to start with whilst they last!
  • Also, just to add, 1kg a week is fairly ambitious for your stats, 0.7-0.8 would be good going but expect that to slow as your weight drops.
  • Don't forget that simply dividing by 14 doesn't give pounds after the decimal point. i.e 16.89 stone is 16 stone 12lbs. (16 stone & 0.89 X 14 = 12) You have to multiply the number after the decimal point by 14 to obtain the value in lbs. To be perfectly honest, much as us Brits are used to our stones, it's much easier just…
  • OK, you've convinced me, request sent. Don't disappoint me! :D

  • To get, and share. motivation and to connect with people who "get it." People who aren't trying to change aren't really interested in it, also CICO is nowhere near as popular as the fad diets/odd meal times/can't eat this or that etc approaches so it's great to have somewhere where most people have faith in the process.
