  • I bought almond butter just to try this...
  • You're welcome! I stress over that too.
  • Weigh the oil before frying. Weigh after frying. Subtract the second weight from the first = how much is in your chicken!
  • Rum and diet coke. Corona lights are also 100 cal each. Saison beers and fruit beers tend to have a lower abv. Any beer with a low abv is a good choice for a lower calorie option - attached is the chart to use for calculating calories in a beer based on the abv %. Most of the time this is accurate, but I look it up if I…
  • I agree - your intake sounds similar to mine! And I think I might start cutting back just a bit too. Definitely won't hurt the wallet either, if you're always buying nice bags of whole beans like me! Thanks again for all the responses, everyone. I think it's so interesting how some people also feel like coffee/caffeine…
  • Thanks everybody for the input. It's interesting hearing about your individual experiences with coffee/caffeine. For me, it has always helped with my appetite, but I could see how that could go the opposite way for some. I definitely have noticed mild habit forming symptoms as well - pretty clear from the frequency of my…
  • Thanks for your response! Checking blood pressure is a good idea. I only really notice sensitivity to caffeine if I have it after 5 - at night it can give me the jitters and difficulty sleeping, but no problems during the day. I will keep an eye on it, though.
  • You are very welcome :) Also if I follow the tips here they always come out perfect!! http://ohsheglows.com/2014/03/12/6-tips-for-flawless-kale-chips-all-dressed-kale-chips-recipe/
  • Haha no worries I get ya. I haven't made it with nutritional yeast since starting MFP... So I'm not sure, but that would definitely put it over the 198 cal serving I posted a pic of. And yes, I weigh it! I use a measuring cup for the oil, and measure in ml. So, what I just made today was 147 g of purple kale (~78 cal), 1…
  • About half a tablespoon for a full cookie sheet size - a little goes a long way when you massage it in to all the nooks and crannies of the leaves. Also, baking them slowly really adds to the crispness. In my oven at 300F* I do ten minutes, turn, then another ten to fifteen minutes. So delicious especially with nutritional…
  • Enormous servings of kale chips as well! Only 198 cal for these.
  • Wishing you well, OP. You took a brave first step today!
  • What is your age, height, current weight, goal weight, MFP activity setting?
  • How are you measuring that peanut butter? With a *food scale? Because, I can get a lot of peanut butter on a spoon... 400-600 calories worth.
  • Don't change anything about your diet - simply make sure that you are under your allotted calorie goals every night. You can make the same food you do now, just less of it!
  • That is so interesting, because I am the same way. I never used to eat ice cream every night until realizing I could have two bars for 160 calls instead of like 10 potato chips.
  • I have had success with MFP so far - 28 lbs down and closer to my goal than I'd ever imagined. I also have issues using my phone at work - to solve this, I prelog my breakfasts and lunches for the entire week so I don't have to use my phone at all, except on break when I check my steps. I hear Weight Watchers works for…
  • I enjoy daily sweets, and feel zero guilt because I fit them into my calories! I love the weight watchers ice cream bars. The fudge bars and English toffee bars are the best.
  • Totally agree, I always take Sundays off. Normally on those days I even get less than 1000 steps... I pretty much try not to leave the couch if possible (;
  • I completely neglected to mention the fact that there were definitely a couple inclines on my run this morning, when my normal terrain is very flat. That is very likely to have contributed, and it makes sense that environmental changes would make a bigger difference than me overeating for a couple days - at least that…
  • Thank you, that is kinda what I figured. I don't consider myself a runner but after doing more cardio I have been able to run a lot more than in the past, but I don't know much about it. So I'm just curious how other people's stamina changes/fluctuates with running.
  • Hahaha thanks.
  • Green tea is a wonderful alternative beverage to water if you like the taste. That is about all it has done for my weight loss journey.
  • Seriously... I felt like my whole life was a lie.
  • Not true. This is a piece of diet advice often given to people because cutting off eating after a certain time generally means you will eat less calories in a day if you stop eating at some point. You can blow your entire day with midnight snacking, if you aren't tracking. Some people also prefer not to eat after 8 because…
  • Why do you cut off eating after 8? If you don't have any problems with digesting food, you can save some calories for a snack before bedtime. Then, you won't be hungry. The only good reason not to eat after 8 PM is personal preference.
  • 1. 140 or 130. We'll see? I can't decide! 2. Both are healthy weights for my height on the BMI scale, and somewhere inside I still don't think I will ever see either number come up when I step on a scale... I need to see it to believe it! 3. Kind of. This is a popular answer, so I picked it. 4. 200. 5. Probably the low end…
