Hmmm, I'm in a similar boat, grew up chubby. But instead of losing weight I just built up a wall and actually gained about 100lb, up to 337. I'm still obsessed with the scale..I weigh a couple times a day because it feels so good to see my hard work in a quantitative way...problem is that if I don't lose, or if I gain, it effects my food choices in a negative way ..I imagine this is something I'll slowly work my way out of. I lost 9 lbs the first week of "clean" eating, haha, then only a few the next...don't worry and don't get used to it is my advice =)

In all honesty, I expected to gain maybe a pound or two, I really didn't eat/drink too much more than normal but who knows..I'm gonna get to pounding water and eating bananas, that usually helps me drop water weight more quickly.

My buddy keeps talking about the gym and getting "ripped"..then asks me how I've lost 60lbs, and I'm like...I eat a lot of chicken and brocolli..

In theory its simple, in practice it's not..similar to telling a smoker to "just stop smoking"..."Just CICO" or "Eat less, move more" is completely useless in terms of helpful information

Haha my "goal" keeps changing..at first it was to just get below 300, then 277...now I dunno...230 seems reasonable...it's more than 100lbs and frankly, my gf seems to like that I'm a little "soft" hahaha

5 months ish..I hit a bit of a plateau for a couple and didn't lose anything, then lost 5lbs this last week..it's been a good ride so far, and I think 230 will be my goal so I'm halfway there.

About weighing food. I convinced my roommate that she could use less dishes if instead of measuring out a cup of rice, she could just pour the rice while the bowl as on the scale, to the appropriate weight... /mindblown

I never ate a "lot"..I drank a lot of soda and what I did eat was high calorie and low volume, so over 10 years I got up to 337. Now I'm watching my calories and down to 280 this morning =)

Honestly, a huge portion of this community are snobby and pretentious on the forums, or straight up trolls. HOWEVER, imo, a larger portion are people who sincerely want to help and have productive conversations..It's all about ignoring the negativity. Thank you for sharing your thoughts tho, don't get discouraged =)

57lbs down, it's been a journey, testing different methods. Basically I set a calorie goal that's below what all the sources tell me, try it for a few weeks, and if I'm losing weight and I feel healthy, bam, problem solved =) GL on your journey!

I drink plenty of liquids including black coffee and mio water..otherwise I just stay busy and avoid food because I practice intermittent fasting.

Well I often "starve" (fast) between 9pm and 4pm..but I'm usually good about eating nutrient rich meals after 5pm, and hitting my calorie goals for the day....but today, chillis it is! Haha.

I eat a WHOLE lot of eggwhites, bags of steamable veggies, chicken thigh...but I like to eat fastfood or whatever every few days to mix it up

Right, something like that..I know that I keep my carbs fairly low, because I feel more full off fewer calories by keeping my fat/protein high. Also, I use intermittent fasting where I dont eat between 9pm-4pm, and I feel like it really helps...but, who the heck knows, so far I've just been trying different things, seeing…

This whole weight loss thing is a big practice of trial and error, at an extreme slow pace.. I really hope your experiment produces helpful data =) Also try to just ignore and forget the "mean girls" on mfp..adults can always get their opinion across while avoiding offending people, and if they cant, I have to assume…
