You didn't mention what kind of cancer, but cancer and treatment have profound effects on the body. I'm sorry you're going through it at such a young age (I'm the same age as you). I've been helping my mom fight pancreatic cancer the past 2 years and being a GI cancer has messed up her eating big time. Even before the…

Same boat as you. Not bipolar but prone to depression and negative thoughts. Also on a 100+ journey. I always say I'm afraid of looking like a deflated ballon. Especially my arms. I've always had larger than average arms and don't want bat wings more than anything. I'm planning on starting a real strength program (been…

I've heard the WW site and app have gone down hill lately. I found them easy enough when I did it 3 years ago. I actually think MFP is annoying and have switched to Fatsecret to log.

This gives me so much anxiety sometimes myself. I've walked away from dinner sometimes because I just couldn't deal with it.

Regaining weight is unfortunately not uncommon no matter what you do to lose it. Maintence is hard. Especially for people who have struggled with food and weight their whole life. In my experience with WW (which is an American company btw), I was very successful while I was on it. I felt encouraged to choose lean proteins,…

One doesn't have to look like a body builder in order to have low body fat...

This also. I'm a thirsty runner so I love just having water right there. And chasing the clock or doing intervals just passes the time so nicely. I no longer find the treadmill tedious. And I like being able to catch up on a tv show or some YouTube videos with less guilt of feeling like a couch potato.

I've been enjoying it lately. I always used to run outside and liked it, but this time around I found a gym I liked and running on the treadmill in an environment that felt motivating and uplifting was nice. I only hate how hot and sweaty I get. I wish I had a fan on me. I missed just running. It takes so long to work up…

BMR is how many calories the body burns if you just lay in bed alive all day. It doesn't include extra calories burned just walking around or doing exercise.

This. The 1 cup is based on cooked.

Echoing the 80/20. And finding a suitable training plan.

I find side stitches more common when I'm getting started running or pushing my self at a tempo pace. What helps me is exhaling when my foot opposite the stitch lands. So I usually get a stitch on my right side so I time my exhales to when my left food lands on the ground.

For me I've been struggling to lose the weight so I really want to spend June getting it right. I also want to start a 5x5 program. And work my way up to a 10k distance

As far as weight loss goes, 15 pounds isn't a lot so the body doesn't loose it as quickly. Everyone on MFP always suggests when you're down that low, set your weight loss goals to .5/week and be meticulous about weighing and logging as since you're in a smaller calorie deficit, there's less room for error. I see people all…

I do always use the cooked entry for meat. The only time I use raw is if I'm building a recipe.

If you just want some cardio- do the one that you like most. I've always been an outdoor runner (when I was running) but for some reason this go around the treadmill is doing it for me. I'm trying to transition to outside more as I'd like to do a race in the fall but it is harder to run outside. Even on a flat area. But I…

@queenliz99 Thanks!

I'm sad WW changed so drastically. I was super successful on points plus 3-4 years ago losing 45 pounds. I was wanting to rejoin because of how successful I was but was really scared off by smart points.

For me it's a place thing too. I'm more likely to snack watching tv in the living room since it's right next to the kitchen. If I feel snacky I make myself go to my room to watch tv. I don't really like to eat in my room.

I'm about to leave for France/Belgium/Holland on Sunday for 8 days. Already said to my parents coming with me we should just wear stretchy pants. I don't wanna pack on weight but croissants. All the croissants. (Among other favorite French foods).

A gallon of liquid weighs 8 lbs. 16 fl oz weighs 16 oz. A pint's a pound a world around. Fun fact.

I had elevated liver enzymes in routine blood work. (Really elevated in the 300s). Had an ultra sound and they unofficially said it looked fatty. GI redid blood to rule out autoimmune and came back clear. He said to lose 20 pounds and then to recheck. It's taken me 2 years to lose 20 pounds so I need to get rechecked. Made…

You log it under cardio not strength training.

Yes. There are some that really care. I worked in a running shoe store for a year and people care about the color. Even the size. So many people didn't want the extra toe room because they didn't like the number on the box or because it made their foot look "big". Also for anyone getting different models of the same shoe-…

I'm with you. I've been doing pretty well since the beginning of the year but got frustrated this past week and went crazy. I want to get back on track and I also want to get better with meal planning/prep

You're doing a full ironman? And it's 9 weeks out?

Still though would like advice on what to set calorie goal at. MFP says I can eat 1900 cals (under lightly active) and lose a pound a week. I'd be thrilled to be able to eat 1900 cals and still lose a pound a week.

@knitty46 Simply speaking, yes. But it's important to make sure you're calculating your exercise calories correctly. Some advise to just eat 50% back to account for discrepancies.
