That'd be a Tequila Rickey. Rickeys are pretty good cocktails, if you don't want to drink the spirit neat. @OP: If you want to drink less, then just drink less. As far as hangovers, just drink a lot more water. I've never had a hangover, because I always drink a lot of water if I have alcohol. As far as the empty calories…

I usually keep meals simple, but that's just because neither I, nor my sister, want to cook much after work. When I do complex meals, I typically just weigh the ingredients, and write it in a notepad. When I get a chance (say if something is baking, or boiling for a while), I enter the recipe in to the app. I add the…

Fair enough. I'm of the mind set that sugar is sugar. So, in that respect, you are preaching to the choir. :)

Nope. Don't need to. Not as much difference as with Dr. Pepper, but still worth it (my ex wouldn't drink the sugar sweetened Dr. Pepper, she hated it, but loved the HFCS sweetened ones). And yeah, the diet tastes a lot different. More bitter. Doesn't bother me though. Anyhow, for me, it's like saying I can't taste the…

Hey, I'm drinking a diet Mtn Dew right now. GRANTED! the ones made with real sugar are the best, but this hits the spot on the occasion I want it. Now, if only they offered Live Wire made with sugar...

It's fine. Just don't go over your calories. I try to work in a drink most days, but I usually prefer an ounce of whiskey, since it's easier to work in (unless I got for one my cask strength bottles, some of those clock in at 100 calories per ounce). @IconStillFree False. Just utterly, and completely false.

That's awesome! I'm actually looking forward to my yearly because of the weight loss. He didn't rag on me for gaining, but probably just because everything else was healthy. I like my doctor, he's a cool guy.

If you mean yesterday, yeah. I wanted pizza and beer. I didn't go to the gym because I got some new twisty puzzles in (5x5x5, 3x4x5, and a megaminx), and I wanted to sticker and lube them. That takes time, and a steady hand. I have a blind spot in my left eye (had a bleed at the start of the year), so I find a beer helps…

Exactly.

I'd say water... or oxygen... but...

Or maybe south, instead. I hear Bryan / College Station is nice that time of year...

No need to cut out tasty foods. I've lost a bit over 20 pounds so far, and I eat pretty much what I want. Just have to log accurately. If you don't have a kitchen scale, then I'd recommend buying one. Weigh all solids, and measure all liquids. But, yeah. I drink whiskey, eat pizza, fries, burgers, ice cream, etc. I don't…

We never really did a huge meal on Christmas. My sister makes a lot of cookies, though. And I usually get candy as a gift. I'll just take it easy. Cookies and candy have never been problems for me. Now Thanksgiving... I usually only eat the one meal, so we'll see. ;)

Are you still losing inches? It seems some people have long periods of stalls where they lose fat, but still retain water (so no perceptible loss). If you haven't been measuring, maybe start, and see if you notice any changes. And is your diabetes well under control? My dad has diabetes (and a pacemaker). He can gain water…

You are probably accidentally eating more than you think. If you don't have a digital kitchen scale, then I would recommend investing in one. Weigh all solids, and measure liquids. When I feel like I need more protein, but don't want a lot more calories, then I just use grilled chicken. You can buy it frozen and precooked.…

My friend about choked when I paid $9 for a (750ml) bottle of Adelbert's Scratchin' Hippo. He opted for a $5 six pack, and chugged it. I don't get it, but to each their own!

Well, the more I exercise, and the more weight I lose, the more energetic I feel. Doesn't have anything to do with caffeine for me. :)
-
As long as you aren't going over your goal, then you will be fine. Timing isn't important, the amount you consume is what matters. :)

I plan on it. Got so much going on, and it's so expensive. I don't plan on just giving up, I just I don't like to up false hopes. So, I prefer to work from the assumption that it is possible, but unlikely I will be allowed any sort of custody. @GETU1N Thanks, will do! :)

I lose at my expected rate consistently, and I drink. I haven't seen anything different this time from the last time I lost, and I was teetotal then. Just counting calories seems to work for losing weight.

Thanks guys. I just needed to vent. I felt a lot better this morning (I'm one of those annoyingly chipper people when I wake up). Unlikely. I doubt I can secure any visitation rights, though I do plan to try. I like the scrapbook idea. I'm not good at those kinds of things, but it would be nice. As far as sending her her…

My tips: Eat what you like, just in moderation. Invest in a digital scale (~$10-$20). Weigh or measure everything that you eat. If you are making meals, the recipe builder is very handy. When using the recipe builder, weigh the finished product, and enter the weight in grams as the number of servings. Keep some high…

Yes, if you regularly eat too few calories, then you need to eat more.

For weight loss, all that matters is burning more calories than you consume. If having a few beers makes you go over, then don't have them. If you get the munchies, then just go easy. Personally, I usually go for hard liquor. Less filling, fewer calories, and it doesn't aggravate my allergies like beer. Though I had two…

Yes. Syrup especially. That stuff is packed full of calories. I started using (raw) honey instead. Just as many calories, but it has a stronger taste, so I use far less of it. If you don't have a digital kitchen scale, then I would recommend buying one. It helps take out a lot of the guess work (measuring solids with cups…

Yep. You can look at my diary if you like. It's not exactly healthy. Granted, it's not all oreos and hot pockets either.

And that's during winter. You know you're a Texan when you plan your walks according to where the shade falls.

One of my exes was like this. Her diet consisted mainly of frozen bean burritos, cake icing (she'd buy cans of it and eat it with a spoon), fried pickles, and baked potatoes floating in butter and sour cream. She was only about 95 lbs. So not healthy, though. Would not reccomend.

And equally, please make sure your facts are not just propaganda before preaching "truth." I mean, how the hell could "fast food weight" be more difficult to burn? Does your body mark it with a stamp, and just skip it when it's looking for fuel? "Ah, here is some fuel! Wait, no, it used to be a Big Mac! Can't burn that!…

Yes. So much this. I did an hour of cardio today after work. After that, I had 1200 calories left for supper and beer. I felt like I could eat a moose, I was so hungry during the last 10 minutes of cardio, but it was worth it.
