I stay away from foods I have trouble eating in moderation. So, I don't buy bags of chips, or big boxes of Tabasco Cheez-Its. Everything else is fair game. Unless you have a medical problem, then food is food. Just eat fewer calories than you burn, and you will lose weight.

I don't do cheat days. But, I do go over some days (several this week). Almost did today. Razoo's for lunch, pizza for dinner, a few ounces of Auchentoshan. Rode for an hour, and I'm finishing the day with a gin rickey. I'm under by 5. It's been a good day! Lol

There are some tasty frozen meal options. As well as just frozen cooked meat that you just need to reheat. Just get some hot sauce, and the precooked meats actually taste pretty good. If you have a blender, I find fruit smoothies to be a very filling and healthy breakfast choice. Especially since you can have it on the go.

If I am hungry after, I grab some chicken. I keep frozen pre-cooked stuff just for this reason. Any protein will do though. Edit: if it's breakfast, I like fruit before, and almond milk fruit smoothie with protein after. I use raw eggs, but protein powder works too.

Just an accounting term, really. It just happens to fit the MFP method very well (calories consumed - exercise = net calories consumed). I tend to think of it in terms of gross calories (goal + exercise adjustment = total calories needed), but it doesn't really matter how you think of it. As long as the math is the same.
