Last Thanksgiving. Dined out at a really good buffet for a change vs. mediocre plate dinner. Bad idea. Tasty, but a bad idea nonetheless. I'd never done that at a buffet before, and never will again. I was in so much gastric distention physical pain I actually had to cut the 4 mile post-feast walk planned to...oh, about a…

Full English Breakfast, in a location where no bangers or other UK-style meats are available within a 100-mile++ radius. XD 1 large egg over easy, 2 pork country style breakfast sausage links, 2 slices applewood smoked bacon (US), 2 halved campari tomatoes + 3 large white mushrooms quartered sauteed, 4 oz homemade baked…

Have you ever used an online accountability support group? Even if you don't really interact other than lurking the discussion groups to give you something to do and the daily accountability check-in? If I hadn't found one back in 2006, I would never have successfully quit tobacco on the first real, honest, attempt. I…

I only log on here for the discussion groups. I log my food and recipes at at different CICO based website (Lose It!) because it is easier/more user friendly for me personally than those same features here. I log my weight on a rolling average excel spreadsheet I found years ago online.

Google 'Atholl Brose' if alcohol is not verboten for you/your diet. Oatmeal water has its uses. ;)

One thing? Finally landing on a "boring" (as so many complain) but affordable and filling menu that I am losing weight on. One that meets my calorie/macros calculations and is not causing any searching/grazing incessantly behavior. Everything has been carefully weighed/calculated out and recorded so I can easily plug it…

There is no polyuria (abnormally large volumes of dilute urine at a higher frequency) without polydipsia (increased water consumption 2º to increased thirst) when it comes to diabetes mellitus or diabetes insipidus. OP: I concur with the advice of you should check in with your PCP (primary care provider) to make sure there…

And now I'm having flashbacks to Boxing Helena and its acrotomophilia undercurrent. :worried:

You are either completely missing or utterly ignoring in order to stack the deck the third leg of the successful business model stool that, without, the entire thing fails and collapses: Minimize expenses, maximize profits, and optimize production. Animal Science/Agribusiness 101 level stuff, it is. You cannot have either…

Unless you have more than 12, it's likely normal variation. While rarer, cervical ribs are possible, too. Feel free to Google about it for images of.

Did you not climb the increasing carb rungs after the two weeks of Induction in order to determine what, for you, is the amount of carb in grams per day at which you lose, gain, or maintain?

Huh. That is the same height as the average height for all American women (2011-2014). I guess I'm pointing this out because you are not really short for a woman if half the population of is shorter than you and half taller. :)

Whoomp, there it is. Engaging in logical fallacies whilst accusing other people of them. There simply is not enough eye rolling emojis on the face of the planet at this point. Trollollollollollollol

No you won't if you possess the intelligence and knowledge to know you need to maintain hydration when working outside on a hot day (as well as work/rest cycles but that's a whole 'nuther ball of wax) versus doing ones darnedest to become a heat stress/stroke victim.

Nope. I cook solely from recipes, sometimes with tweaks/combinations, but from recipes. Tons from Cooks Illustrated, if you want to talk about "complicated" recipes ingredient list length-wise. And not a single one with the nutritional info already worked out for it so I am having to do it every time. I'll…

Hogwash. Well, actually, wishful thinking by either the willfully, or not-so-willfully, ignorant. But don't take just my word on it: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=myth+of+the+negative+calorie+food

You cook like you did/would for three. Or two, even. Or six like I do routinely. Then you eat leftovers. Or make new meals from the leftovers. If you don't like either, you are in for an uphill battle if you don't learn to. Maybe I'm biased because I have cooked for no one but myself (and only occasionally others) for 26…

(I personally find turkey burgers and sausages/links can really assist in hitting daily protein goals. And have you tried the rice or pea protein powders? I have zero experience with either to know if not only palatable, but worth it from a calorie/carb standpoint.) Sure. Why wouldn't it? I have never followed a low fat…

You can try it, OP. But if you find it causes more problems than it solves, be smart about it and dump it rather than trying to fix the "new" problem(s) with additional (usually more and more restrictive) rule(s). It is one slippery slope you want to pull your crampons/ice axe out and halt the slide via self-arrest vs.…

Flexible dressmaker/tailor/cloth measuring tape. This site does have a screen for inputting the standard tape measurement areas of the body for tracking change over time. You can also customize it by tracking additional body sites (e.g., upper arm/lower arm/wrist, upper leg/lower leg/ankle, upper vs. lower waist,…

All this argument grounded in emotion-only of who the diet is/is not appropriate for without bothering to check in with the creators of the diet: http://www.robard.com/programs/for-medical-providers/#!/vlcd

Heard so many rave reviews. Ended up being a Halo Top fiasco for me all over again. They are oddly...oily...yet crumbly dry at the same time. It's weird. Tried seven flavors. Of them, the coconut cashew was the only one I could see choking down eating more than once. Really disappointed the blueberry muffin was so super…

On top of rye triscuits along with sweet pickles and a cream cheese based sardine spread. Or in a sandwich with sardine salad. Clearly, I find it pairs well with oily fish. :D

Tap, which comes from a private well. A well that gets tested maybe every five years, after I nag and nag and nag for three years and eleven months. It's like some landowners don't think coliforms are a thing that can get into ground water, or anything. :\ I carry a 16 oz Nalgene everywhere. If I need water, I'll get it…

I found the ready-to-drink (RTD) Premier Protein shakes are as drinkable as the reviews make them out to be. The problem, for me, is they are too good - I could easily drink more than one and they are not cheap; not even with a coupon when there is one. Also, tasty, but thin. Easy to still be hungry after drinking one. As…

I don't know if QID efficacy comparison studies for MPH exist, to be honest. It's not a drug I am intimately familiar with in any manner and thus have very, very limited experience with other than treating accidental intoxications of. Maybe check out pubmed/ncbi? But it is pretty much a given at this point that long term…

Consider talking with your PCP about the pros/cons of going from BID to TID dosing when it comes to the MPH as well. While the newer versions of are specifically formulated for extended time(s), sometimes, for some patients, more frequent dosing smooths out the peaks and troughs better.

Why not seize this time of year as an opportunity to try/introduce people to actual brains? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-08-23/americans-are-eating-more-brains-as-offal-goes-mainstream Convincing oneself to try them really is... ...wait for it... ...just an issue of mind over matter. :) (Yes, I am a dork.…

So it is easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission. You can apologize (i.e., ask forgiveness) all you want as you go through life deploying this tactic. Nevertheless, it creates rifts as the real issue at hand is trust. And once you've harmed trust, the relationship suffers for it. If you want relationships in…

At 31, 5'7.25", and 142 pounds, I wore a size 10 in jeans, too. In fact, those very jeans imaged below. Yea, they are some ridiculously vain pictures - in my defense I was still very much in the enamored honeymoon phase of getting my first body piercing when I snapped them. XD Well, okay. And the fact I had been…
