  • You can set your own protein and carb percentage however you want, after you set the fat percentage in the app to what you want. It makes you put in percentages that will add up to 100%. Have you looked at the app and tried to set it up at all? I would just leave the MFP settings as they are, since fat is already set at…
  • Motivation for me doesn't work. Habits do. I just build it into the weekly schedule. I make myself go to the gym on work out days even if I don't feel like it. When I get there, I usually can get it done. But even if I get there and am not feeling it, I make myself do at least a few things, then if I still can't push…
  • No, OP, this is totally unnecessary. Bad advice.
  • Everyone has this happen. It's how you deal with it in your head that matters. Everyone struggles at some point, or several points during their time losing weight. You need to just accept it as water weight, and it will be gone in a few days.
  • 300 grams of protein would be be 600 calories in itself, I think you got your math wrong. There are 4 calories per gram, so it would be 1200 calories worth of protein. Either way, this is a really dumb thing to do. Not worth it.
  • Just eat what you like, weigh it by the gram to eat within the calories you want.
  • Of course you should. Why wouldn't you?
  • There is no specific foods that help you lose weight. You can eat what you want, you just need to be in a reasonable calorie deficit, ( no more than 1-2 lb a week depending on how much you need to lose).
  • The same as at pretty much any age. Figure out how many calories you need to eat to be in a reasonable deficit and stick to it. If you can, do some exercise. It won't burn a lot of calories but you will get stronger. So.e weight lifting and walking for cardio. But it really comes down to how much you eat.
  • You don't have to exercise to lose weight. All you have to do is eat in a reasonable calorie deficit. I am on crutches due to my disability and I am pretty sedentary, but I have managed to keep a lot of weight off just by monitoring my calories.
  • It's just a habit, that can be broken and a new healthier habit replace it. Find something to do, don't just sit around bored at home. Go out and do something, find a hobby, and don't have trigger foods at home. I lost my job 4 months ago and the first week I was eating a lot more, and I realized it so I went back to my…
  • You want input on what?
  • No, that's not the way it works. If you have it set to lose .5 lb and you want to lose 1 lb, you need to reduce your calories by 250 calories more. I don't know why it would have given you more calories unless you changed something else.
  • As a kid, we never had evening snacks. We were expected to eat enough at supper that we wouldn't be hungry 2 hours later. I am so glad of this also, because now as an adult, I have no desire to snack after supper.
  • I was thinking back to when I was a kid. We would eat at about 5:30 pm and not eat until we got up at 6:30 - 7:00 am the next morning. Seems funny that people think that going 12 hours between eating when you are probably sleeping at least 8 of those hours ( or should be) is hard.
  • I'm sorry, but 75 degrees Fahrenheit is not hot. It is going to be 100 degrees here in Iowa all next week. THAT is extreme heat. Get a fan. (That's 38 degrees Celsius.) Sorry, but I think you have disordered thinking and you are using "heat" as an excuse to massively under eat. You have several threads where you have under…
  • @goldengirl111 seems to be dredging up old diabetes threads for some reason. Necro thread.
  • You need to figure out what macro split will keep you satisfied. I am more satisfied and eat a lot less when I eat protein. If I eat a lot of carbs, I will eat all day long because they leave me hungry and unsatisfied. It is totally individual for everyone. I also think you are overthinking it. First, figure out how many…
  • You can eat what you want, and you do still have to eat within your calorie allotment if you want to lose weight. I eat one meal a day and have for years. I'm never hungry in the morning, and too busy usually to eat lunch. I'm also a volume eater, so I like a big meal. I can easily eat within 1500 calories once a day.
  • No, I prefer to go by myself and get it done. I have tried with a buddy, and they either flake out and don't go, or I sit there waiting for them to finish, or whatever. I am very introverted though, so I generally like to be by myself anyway. I don't need someone to make me accountable for my own actions.
  • To lose weight, macros don't matter. They matter more for satiation. Start with the percentages MFP automatically gives you, and tweak it from there if you want more protein, less carbs, etc. I do better eating more protein so I have a higher percentage of that, and lower carbs. But some are satisfied by more carbs less…

  • You can eat whatever you want. That's about half your sodium for the day, but it's fine.
  • It isn't a plateau until it's been about 6 weeks. You were just sick, that causes inflammation which causes water weight. Be patient.
  • Why are you asking a bunch of random people on a message board? If you are concerned it is your heart, get to your doctor to check it out, ASAP.
  • We need way more information. No way can anyone say with the extremely vague question. What is your height, age, how much are you wanting to lose, have you set up MFP to tell you what your calories should be? How long have you been trying to eat in a deficit? Are you weighing your solid foods on a food scale, and measuring…

  • Sorry to ask, hope I’m not overstepping here, but why do people store anything in their oven? I’ve never heard this before! Is this common?[/quote] Some of us don't have enough cupboards, (very small kitchen) and need that space to store things. I only store pans, cookie sheets and racks in mine.
