OP - congrats on getting on your bike and cranking out some miles. ALSO - Congrats on taking in some hills! I personally think you are dong great and well on your way to feeling great too. There are a lot of ways to estimate calories burned - but one thing you mentioned is how at the top of the hills you were having a hard…

When I hit goal, I was thrilled with my body shape and hitting goal - FINALLY - after 18 long months. Over the next few months my body shape changed. I guess it was catching up to my 18 month transition. I decided to lose 10 more pounds and had to open another MFP account as Tweaking_Time because I was very stupid and…

The only time I get light-headed is when I burn way more calories than what I eat...like after an hours long endurance event. To get rid of this feeling I eat some calorie dense food, like a PBJ sandwich, and the light-headedness goes away in less than 5 minutes like magic. Since you have not provided stats, I am just flat…

I have been here a good long while and I am down 75 pounds and in maintenance...but...if I don't log I gain. So I log daily, run, cycle, and swim, and I have a bunch of low cal but very tasty recipes. Add me if you want.

I can't compete with the ^^^mountain pics above^^^...but I have nailed flat land! The river is bordered by 110 feet tall bluffs though. This is on the KATY Trail, about 2 miles downstream from Coopers Landing...and that is the mighty Missouri River.

I was not prepared for how unusual and simultaneously stunningly beautiful totality was...just wow! Night birds started singing, as were the crickets and frogs. It was at least 10 degrees cooler too. The closest example of what I mean is the difference between seeing pictures of the Grand Canyon and standing on the rim of…

PF is coming to my town. I am excited. I have been a member of the main gym in town for a long time...its well equipped, great pool, lots of classes if you are into that, excellent trainers, and about $45/month plus tax. Your other options are a run-down Golds gym or AnyTime Fitness. I will be checking out PF for sure. At…

I just completed my first Sprint Triathlon 4 weeks ago. That was my workout goal. I had a goal. That goal is now achieved and is gone. Since then I have been adrift trying to figure out a new goal...which makes it hard for me to be as motivated to exercise. I still exercise, but not as much as when I have a clear goal in…

So you are going over calories today. What about for the week? Going forward, I suggest that you stop eating donuts after breakfast :)

Been here for a long time and have been in maintenance for a long time...but I need to log or I will gain weight...history has proven that. MFP, logging, and a small group of active friends do keep me accountable. Add me if you want. I cycle, swim, run and manage our 120 acres. I do log daily.

@snickerscharlie You might want to use the FaceBook Purity Add-On to drown out the unwanted. I use it in Chrome and it works great. Only see what you want to see and not what FB crams into our feed. http://www.fbpurity.com/ Hijacking of thread now over - please resume :)

I tried 3 different diets to lose 75 pounds in 18 months...only one worked permanently. What I tried, in order, follows: * Atkins - Low Carb - Weight fell off - about 30 pounds. But I missed spaghetti, rice, carbs badly soooo * Weight Watchers - Low Fat - still lost weight - about 15-20 pounds - but I missed the WW…

I am an engineer and I run a testing lab and if the scales are not calibrated, I would not be too concerned about either result. Just stay with your home scale so you get consistency. Many other things come into play with weighing...Time of day creates a huge variable. I personally weigh right after I wake up and take care…

My wife lost weight and her blood pressure went down a bunch - all the way to normal - and she was still heavier than she should have been. I lost 75 pounds years ago (now at 6'0" and 172 lbs). I cycle, swim, and run very regularly. In fact I just completed a Sprint Triathlon 3 weeks ago. Even though I am very fit with a…

^^^This^^^ Also - something to consider - a gym membership will give you more options and usually costs about 30% to 40% of a decent treadmill.

Sorry to hear about your microwave but I loved reading your post...haha

I have been here a long time. I am down 75-80 pounds depending on the week/month/season and have kept it off for 5+ years. If I quit logging I fatten up - so here I am - logging daily. I cycle, swim, run and have a 120 acre farm with all of the work that comes with it. Add me if you want.

I used to use Runkeeper and Strava. Strava was way more detailed. But I went another direction last summer....I turned them all off and used a simple bike computer, $45 installed at my local bike shop. Being free of the apps was liberating (for me) - but I totally get it why some people want to use the apps.
