Thanks, but I'm fine with my schedule, and I prefer fresh meals to leftovers. This is just to see how people have their days structured so people not sure when to fit exercise in can see how we all manage. Personally, I'm enjoying learning how other people do things :)

My husband and I met at work and still work together. It's great 85% of the time. We make a great team, it's nice to be able to commute and eat lunch together, it's nice to be able to get a hug in the middle of the day when I need it, and he kills bugs for me if I get one in my office. We usually get in the car and have…

I haven't tried drinking shorts. They seem too solid and fabric-y. But with the glowing recommendations in this thread, I'll have to give them a try. Cotton or denim? Does solid go down smoother than plaid?

There is never an argument about this in my house. My husband understands that making tea for me every morning and evening is a must. He's the perfect man. Poolside in a villa in Portugal sounds fan-frikkin-tastic.

Yes, I do. I seem to be one of the few people in this thread who prefers to/can exercise after work instead of before. Would you like to share what the rest of your day is like, or did you just want to point out that my day starts later than yours..?

Neither. I lift according to my program, and it takes whatever time it takes. I do runs for mileage, and it takes whatever time it takes. Calories burned are nice for getting to eat more, but they're not the main goal. Calorie deficit for weight loss. Exercise for health and body composition.

Sort of. I've always been a casual exerciser. I never played team sports, but took dance and aerobics classes throughout middle school/high school/college. I learned to lift and started running in college as well, but I also had an all-you-can-eat dining hall and an intense love for cheesy snacks, so I put 20 lbs. After I…

People here aren't in a situation to diagnose you, but doing a VLCD - like 800 calories - without doctor supervision is dangerous. Set up an appointment with a registered dietitian to learn about healthy weight loss. You'll be referred to a therapist if they think you have an eating disorder. There's also no harm in…

I'm hung up on this post. Why so extreme? Why is it a homemade burger vs. 5 McD's burgers + beer + a kebab? Why couldn't I go out and get a single burger, a single beer, and no kebab? And then why do I need to make my cheat meals healthier? The whole point is to eat something I enjoy, and if I were to start cutting out…

So sad you won't consider eel! It's so good. It doesn't LOOK like eel at all, if that helps? I looked up the menu (I think, I'm assuming it's a chain in Canada?). The rolls are small and nigiri and cones are per piece, so you don't have to do the buffet if you don't want to. There's a decent selection of vegetarian rolls.…

I got so cheated last night. A wild Tauros appeared! And I caught it on the first try! And I did a happy dance because I've been wanting that one! AND THEN IT REGISTERED AS A FRIKKIN GOLDEEN.

When we're talking about bulimia, let's keep in mind that bulimia is not just vomiting to get rid of food. There's also exercise bulimia, where one exercises until the calories consumed are burned off. This could definitely become another form of bulimia with a different method on purging. And someone using this device for…

Is this the MFP version of a Xanga survey? I kinda miss Xanga. 27y/o here. 1.) What motivates you to workout? Obviously not much right now, I keep skipping workouts. Stupid injury that won't die. I think I'd be more motivated if deadlifts were the only exercise I ever had to do. ...But yeah, I wanna look hawt and not hate…

Amazon sells variety packs of several popular brands, including Quest and Pure Protein. They're more expensive than the best deals online, but probably still cheaper than the grocery store.

Oh gosh ok. I shop in three places. Kroger is pretty standard for American chain grocers: Flowers Sushi Deli meat/cheese Bakery Produce Fresh meat and seafood Packaged meat Juice Dairy Eggs Ready-bake cookies Pharmacy Staples I would miss: Tea Rice Beans Pasta Canned tomatoes Canned artichokes Crackers Mustard Pickles…

Are you weighing and measuring everything, including packaged food? A long time ago when I was eating "1200" calories, I wasn't weighing things on a food scale. I was eating more like 1400-1500. So even when I was under and full on "1000" calories, I was, in reality, eating more than that. If you aren't weighing and…

Moderation is deciding what I really, really want and being responsible about how I consume it. I get about 200 "free" calories daily after I've met my macros with nutrient-dense meals. I usually choose to spend them on a glass of wine and a piece of high quality dark chocolate. Sometimes I'll choose to spend them on ice…

If this is a reference to my "sex-obsessed society" comment, I meant what we're exposed to, not what individuals do. I didn't mean to cause offense by suggesting there's something wrong with wanting a lot of sex - there's not. I have a pretty high sex drive too, but I try to put myself in someone else's shoes. There's a…

This isn't green eggs and ham. This is part of her identity. I know you have a girlfriend, so I wouldn't ask you "Hey, have you tried sex with men? Sometimes people are surprised by what they enjoy!" Maybe you have, and that's fine, but it's not information I've ever seen you volunteer and it's not my business. Going by…

It didn't bother me until I got followed a couple of times. Now I feel like a honk is an indication I need to be on my guard, and I really hate it. Hate it hate it hate it. I run with my husband as often as possible so I'm not out alone, and I don't run in the dark, ever. If it happens, I ignore it - I don't want to…

So 10% added sugar is fine, but heaven forbid he eat 11%. Also, given that studies have found 100g of fructose (and sometimes more, depending on the study) to not be harmful for highly active people and athletes, I think Hornsby's doing just fine.

Ugh, I bet she hears this all the time, and I bet it's exhausting, and I bet you have no idea how potentially offensive this question is. Can people please stop trying to "convert" her to sexuality? She's asexual in a sex-obsessed society, pretty sure she knows how she feels about it.

I'd guess she was throwing a party. If she was doing cheese platters and smoked salmon, that's $$$ right there. If the party was for a milestone occasion, she might have bought decent champagne. A case at $40/bottle would be most of that bill. It also might not have been personal - a friend of mine used to be the chef and…

Bookmark this thread for the days you feel like this is impossible: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1103164/3-yrs-312lbs-lost-1yr-from-bodylift-and-maintenance/p1 Keep at it, you're doing so well so far!

You're like me! I don't do spreadsheets, but if my Christmas shopping isn't done by Halloween I start to freak out a little. I'm always keeping my eye out for the perfect gift, and I snag it when it comes along. Uncommon Goods is my go-to for gift ideas - there's usually something quirky that goes with someone's…

I dated a guy who accidentally put on my size 6 jeans one morning. He realized they weren't his when he went to put on his shoes and the jeans were up around his calves instead of at his ankles. Then I dated a guy who freaked out at me for folding his jeans wrong - I did them flat instead of having the crease down the…

As a 5'5" 27 y/o with a desk job, I eat 1400-1500 to lose weight and 1800 to maintain. It's easy to hit my macros on these calories, I have adequate energy, and I still fit wine in. I'm sorry you find this "disturbing" when it's a healthy, reasonable amount for a large number of people, especially women. This is hardly…

Are you weighing and measuring everything to make sure you're really eating 1300 calories? The only way sugar makes you gain weight is if you go over your calorie goal. Also, walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes isn't going to be a very big calorie burn - if you're trying to get a bigger deficit with exercise, consider…

Think of it this way - if you preserve the muscle you have while in a deficit, instead of shrinking down to a smaller version of your current self, you significantly change your body composition. You don't need to build new muscle while losing weight to see big benefits. If you're not happy when you get to goal, that's…
