  • Yeah, losing is a little stressful because 1) I hate shopping for new clothes 2) I know what I like to wear from my old stuff, if I have to buy new clothes, then I have to put thought into choosing what to wear But I'm a grad student, so I can get away wearing baggy clothes for a couple of years before I have to dress like…
  • Same here. 28 years old and since I've been working out, my resting heart rate has fallen a lot, which adds to it I think. I don't know how to fix it though. More salt, maybe. When my dad was younger he had the same problem and that is what they told him to do.
  • Making mistakes and having to live with the consequences always sucks. You, like most of us, made the mistake of overeating at some point in your life, and it had physical consequences. You are now in the process of making amends. Recognize that, and forgive yourself for your mistakes. All of them, even if some are staring…
  • No "cheat" meals because you really can't cheat science. However, there are days when I eat less so that I can eat more later and fit everything into my calories, and some days I eat more, just knowing that it will slow my weight loss a little bit.

  • My pants kept falling down today, so I had to make an emergency trip to the store and get a belt. Most of my pants are size 10, but I'm a size 8, really. I think I need a few more pairs of those.
  • I want a chilli pepper on my reviews too, but I don't think I'll ever go on ratemyprofessor to look. I hate evals with a passion! (Even though mine were excellent this past semester)
  • I just don't want to be the one who gained a lot of weight after highschool/college like everyone else. I was never the skinny one, but now I have the chance to be smaller than a lot of my peers because they've gained and I've stayed the same or lost.
  • I exercised every day I planned to this week, and even though I wasn't really feeling it today, I still did it.
  • I'm the same way with getting below 190. Ugh!
  • Good idea! I'll ask around and see if I can donate them to one of the local schools.
  • I don't have a lot of cycling experience, but I do cycle sometimes. I think a big risk of riding on roads is that drivers don't see you. I take the whole lane so that they will notice me, but once they see me and slow down, I'll get over to the side and let them pass if it is safe to do so.
  • PhD candidate here, and teaching a full class-load. Going into my fourth year out of five. When things get too crazy, I tend to give up on working out and I eat too much. I've lost almost 20 lbs using mfp, but gained five of them back last semester. I finally get a break from teaching this summer, so I'm hoping to set some…
  • I don't think the gender gap is inherently a bad thing. It can be caused by risk preferences, physical anatomy, or helmet head. The more important question is "are women wanting to bike and unable to do so."
  • I'm considering getting rid of most of my art supplies. I just can't really do it anymore. I have problems with my hands, and I don't have time/ my interests have moved elsewhere. I have a bunch of canvases and other art supplies. I'm thinking about keeping a set of pencils and a sketchbook, and donating everything else.…
  • 10 lbs really changed my face. I also lost a pant size. Lost a total of 20 lbs so far, but gained 4 back, and I really noticed those 4.
  • I logged this entire week, even though there were three days with complected food choices.
  • Lol. It may be my only option.
  • Well, I texted him that my plans were cancelled for tomorrow and asked him if he had any suggestions. He said he was staying in tomorrow. That's as close to asking him out as I could get. But maybe I'll post the whole story so y'all can see how much of a 13yr old newb I am, lol.
  • Is my friend interested in me? If so, why hasn't he asked me out yet? I feel like I've given him enough signals. Also, why am I a 13 year old girl when it comes to relationships?
  • I was thinking the exact same thing as I was reading this post. The market salad is the best!
  • It depends on the person. Like someone earlier said- some people are intrinsically motivated, while others are more extrinsically motivated. I think we can all be motivated in some way or another by other people, but the way they motivate us may be different. For instance, if someone tells me I should work out then I will…
  • I took pictures of me today and compared them to ones I took last September. I have less of a sway back and my stomach looks flatter and a lot less bloated, despite me feeling bloated today.
  • Here's to raising the dead. I starting IF a couple of days ago, so we'll see how it goes. TBH I never ate breakfast until I got my first 9-5 job. Then it became a habit. I hit a plateau in November, and then I gave up for a while and gained back a few lbs. So I'm going to eat 16:8 and see if anything changes. I'm also…
  • Fell off the wagon and gained like 6 or 8 lbs. But I didn't fall off the exercise wagon and I've been working out more consistently than I ever have before, which is a NSV. Back to counting my calories. Day 2 complete.
  • At first you will gain about 2 to 5 pounds. This is because your body is holding more water. You've got to wait that out, but it should go away after a few days to weeks.
  • I dislike running, but I think it is an efficient way to burn calories and improve cardio conditioning. For whatever reason, cycling is harder on my knees than running. But I love cycling, so I run to get my cardio condition up so that I can cycle better. Find what works for you. I get bored easily, so I like doing a…
  • When I hit 182 I will be the lowest I've weighed since my sophomore year of college. 7 lbs away.
