  • I agree, keto is awesome. Welcome.
  • I cleaned out the cabinets when I started also. Gave everything to a family member. I was bagging stuff up and mom was taking stuff out of bags. I cook for all of us so in the end I won.
  • I made my mother a personal cheese cake in a ramekin. Ran some pecans thru the ninja added melted butter and squished it in the bottom, toasted that up. Then I mixed up some cream cheese, butter, HWC and a bit of sweetener. Topped it with a few raspberries. She loved it!
  • Thanks! I'm feeling okay at the moment. I feel like after all this crap I have to be done smoking. I never wanna do this again.

  • Thanks clawson. I feel like I am doing so much to be healthy - I shouldn't feel like crap. I have had BPC for breakfast and didn't eat until dinner, is that what you mean? I do like that and I felt that eating food in the morning caused me to eat more during the day and I am happy to be back to my BPC breakfast.

  • It just finally hit me - I need to go shopping!! woohoo! It is freaking awesome! Thanks for the support!
  • I have to say, the Chantix did its job. The Dr said start it a week before my quit date but that gave me anxiety so I just didn't take it. Finally, I decided I would start the Chantix and see what happened. I had a random quit date picked out, but I didn't tell anyone (figured I could always push it further off.) I…

  • Just fyi cause I'm bored at work - Billy Mays used cocaine and Ritter's heart issue was unrecognized and undetected - at least according to CNN and Google. I'm sure statins might/could help some people, but everyone? Doubt it.
  • They were both 50 something?
  • The brainwashing is real. A 30 something year old nurse told me she was on it because she didn't want to have a heart attack. How many 30 year olds need to be worried about having a heart attack? Blows my mind.
  • I don't think everyone suffers from "keto flu" but I don't really know why. Funny story though... Every time my daughter says she feels yucky I tell her to drink a broth. She had a friend over who is not low carb the other night. Apparently her friend wasn't feeling well so my daughter made her a broth. I guess I've…
  • Thanks everyone! I am thrilled.
  • Frank's all natural is the lowest carb jar sauce I've found. My daughter doesn't like it though. Too chunky for her. Fixed that up quick with my stick blender though.
  • I can wear my daughters skinny jeans. Her old jeans from when we started this woe. But I can! She's not really happy but she's gone down a few sizes since then too. So NSV for both of us.
  • Not sure they will ever prescribe that. I asked for it last time and she gave me the metformin XR. Next appointment isn't until February. Hopefully I won't even need it by then.
  • I took Metformin 500mg for 2 weeks and I thought I was dying. Rushing to the bathroom, gas pain that was unbearable. Stopped that and a week later started Metformin XR 500mg. Been taking that for 1.5 weeks and I am having muscle pain. First I thought it was electrolytes, I'd been slacking on potassium a bit, added another…
  • You know, I also asked again if they would check my insulin level she said it something they don't check. It wasn't an option. Hopefully in February my new doctor can order it. So frustrating. I have three glucose testers, one even does ketones. I really want to order more ketone strips but it's not in the budget at the…
  • I asked if glucophage was easier on the stomach, she said she didn't know about that but the xr was. Just started that Friday so we'll see what happens.
  • I said the exact thing to her BT. I am neither starved or deprived. I thought it was hilarious. She can eat her plain dry chicken breast and steamed white rice. I'll eat my steak with butter and my green beans with bacon.
  • Also I asked about the increased mpv and she said it means nothing. I asked if it was related to insulin resistance and she said no, it's nothing. Why do they test it if it means nothing? I have a huge list of questions, it's sad I have to wait until February. In the mean time I'm going to keto on.
  • I met with the Endo's PA. I asked her if she heard of keto. She told me she didn't agree with starving and depriving yourself. Switched the metformin for metformin XR and made an appointment with the actual Endo. Apparently her only job was to check my feet and blood pressure. Turns out the Endo appointment is 15 minutes…
  • Ha! Does my sister call you too??
  • From what I've gathered as long as you are eating to satiety you don't need to add extra fat. Low carb is the key to ketones not the fat.
  • Well, she didn't make another appointment for me because she knew I wasn't interested. They just refer everyone there when diagnosed. I was curious because my fasting blood sugar hasn't gone down below 110 and I don't know why. My 30 day average is 116 and its usually between 125 and 110 testing fasting, before dinner and…
  • I told her I thought it was better just have one raise instead of 3 or more and she said no because my liver would just make more glucose. I mentioned the rice and pasta because I already knew that wasn't true so I didn't know if she actually knew anything. haha I will watch some Dr Fung this evening. Thanks for your input!
  • I asked if she had read Wheat Belly, but no. I wasn't worried about adding, I wasn't going to either way. haha Thanks Knit.
  • Saw the PA yesterday to discuss my results. He didn't say much but he made an appt for me with the endos PA in 3 weeks. Also started metformin hcl 500mg today. I am hoping my fbs starts decreasing along with my IR. Praying it clears up my acne, I'm too old for that *kitten*.
