I'd also turn on some sort of step counter so you have a sense of how much calories you expended during your tour. It might help you feel better about your tasting. Dance at lot at the reception too.

Look into yoga you can do sitting in a chair or lying down. It's about breathing. When my elderly mother was recovering from surgery we marched in her wheelchair. Just moving her legs & lifting them from the knee plus raising her arms overhead or doing arm circles kept her circulation going. Find a YMCA near you & sign up…

One bad day is not the end of the world. Depending on what time it is where you are, can you at least go for a walk or do some exercises in your home? Eat the right number of calories tomorrow and take it from there. One day at a time.

That person is just mean & certainly not supportive or helpful. Focus on next year. When you come back after having been doing this for 14 months, your #s are going to be great! You will have the last laugh when you get to tell her "I told you so!"

Congratulations! Yours sounds like a sensible goal. I sincerely hope you are successful. I don't mean to be a downer here but please remember a few things about wedding dress shopping. Many dresses have to be ordered 12 - 9 months in advance. Bridal sizing runs small. At the time I was a size 6 in real life but a 10-12 in…

She wanted variety. I don't know too many things you can get at a fast food place besides burger or chicken. My grocery store buffet had more choices. Of course there will be bad choices but there are other options. Mine offered lean roast beef, a couple of kinds of chicken, a few pasta dishes, salmon, talpia, and roast…

Good for you. I have cut down but I don't think I could ever give up completely. My husband & I did decide we're going to keep it out of the house . . . less temptation.

Don't waste the money trying to log on a cruise. The satellite time is expensive & slow. Pay attention to portions. Take the stairs when possible. Do active excursions. Write it all down & log it when you get home or in the airport while you are waiting for your flight home & have wifi. Enjoy your trip!

Even if you can't cook for yourself, why can't you be the one who picks up the take out so you have more control?
-
Skip the fast food & go to the hot buffet section of your local grocery store. Mine has grilled salmon & tons of veggies. Also any place that has a big salad bar. It's not perfect but how do you feel about white pizza with broccoli & spinach?

First are you sure your calories are set right? I certainly don't claim to understand all of this & on different sites & using different calculators the numbers are different. Try this: just log what you eat for a week. You are making a baseline of your intake, not dieting. Don't even try to be "good". Just eat & log.…

If you are 100 over every day for the rest of your life, yes you will notice long term gain. However, I'm not convinced that every entry on here is perfect so 200 calories over in the course of a week shouldn't be anything to be paranoid about. FWIW, while away for the weekend I had 3 days where I was more than 1,000…

Walk to work. Take the longest walking route to class. Always take the stairs. Buy those wrap-able weights & put them on your ankles for increased calorie burn. Play games with yourself. See if you can go one hour at work without eating. Then build on that success. Go two hours. You can do it. When you are tempted, drink a…

What are you eating before you work out? I found I do better (no or at least a lot less dizziness) if I have a yogurt or eat some cheese before I head to the gym.

I did the pre-wedding loss the unhealthy way -- Atkins for 3 weeks. I cheated & had a glass of wine every weekend but only 1.

Keep it out of the house as much as possible. If you do indulge, check the portion size & just eat that. Cut a piece of cake like you normally would. Then cut it in half again. Only eat the half. Save the other half for tomorrow. Eat your treats very slowly to savor each bite because you only get a very little so make it…

Years ago when I started Atkins I couldn't drink plain water either. They let you have Crystal light so I drank a lot of that. Over the years by sticking with it, drinking water became easier. Or try weaning yourself to it. I had to do that to learn to tolerate skim milk. I started with 75% whole milk & 25% 2%, when I got…

Agree with getting the stuff out of the house. Another trick, when you are craving something, stop & drink a glass of water. See if you still want it after the water. Also try taping pictures of your dream dress various places to motivate you. However with bridal sizing & the costs be careful. While I commend you for…

Grilling. Sprinkle a low cal spice mix or even a marinade on lean meat then grill. Steamed or grilled vegetables are also easy.

I stopped calling them snacks. I think of it as 5 small meals rather than snacks between meals. So when I'm being good I eat breakfast, something mid morning, lunch, something mid afternoon and then dinner. After dinner drinks tend to be my downfall though. I think the "secret" is tinker with the timing & portions until…

Away from home (vacation not work) / social situations seem to be my problem. However, since I'm paying attention & I eat better at home & pay more attention to portions when out, I'm trying to feel better about the overall net improvement rather than those failures.
-
The buffet has never been my problem. I drink my calories. On vacation I'm not going to apologize for "letting my hair down" but the amount of empty calories in booze has been eye opening. It has caused me to drop my wine with dinner habit. Enjoy your cruise TR0berts. My secret is to always take the stairs & the long way…

Mine is open but is a better road map on what not to do.

Can you eat a more substantial breakfast?
-
Search Rodizio near you. If you know of any Portuguese or Brazilian neighborhoods, they may be your best bets. They have lots of these places. Trick is don't eat the bread or the sides because the meat is simply too tasty.
-
What does that mean?
-
I just think of it as a buffer. I did something to burn some calories but because I don't get "extra" calories then I can't eat them back. o:)

Generally a "lap" is up & back, 2 lengths of the pool

When I tried low carb the sugar free jello saved me because there was a "treat" involved. String cheese was also good.
