My first time cooking salmon. It turned out perfect and was absolutely delicious. I’ve always been too nervous to cook salmon because it doesn’t take much to overcook it.

I’ve been putting together a lot of “ bowl” meals. This one has mixed greens including massaged kale, wild rice mix with sweet potatoes, shrimp and teardrop peppers with balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

Sooooo…. Yesterday I WALKED the entire 18 holes of golf. Way overdid it! I could hardly move last night. Except to go to the kitchen for more food! Moderation is a good idea! I think that I entered everything though, and if my Fitbit is accurate, I still burned 900 calories more than I consumed.

I golfed 18 holes today and walked the entire way. I’m tired.

This is your first time calorie counting, right? You will find out what works best for you. In general a couple of hundred calories for me can easily be “borrowed” and “loaned”. You really can’t think that way about days when you are over your calories by A LOT. Do you have an exercise tracking device? My Fitbit Versa…

Weekend report Friday nights party was a bust! Too hot and humid. We didn’t stay long at all. I had two tap beers that were filled just 3/4. Saturday was the planned family get together cookout. My daughter fell ill so her and her family did not come. My son and his two came. Again the heat and humidity were awful. I had a…

You Brits with your “stones” sending me to the calculator app. 🤣. Worse than us “Americans” with our pounds and feet and yards and such. Welcome to the group- good luck and have fun

Welcome Jill. I am so glad to hear that you are interested in being an active member. This has been a relatively quiet group compared to others I’ve been involved in the past. I enjoy seeing everyone posting their ups and downs, food discoveries, pains and jubilations. Hello and welcome CastleOffice. You’ve got this! Have…

@Keepingtrack1234 If I EVER get down to my desired weight, I hope that I can maintain like you do! Do you feel like you will need to participate in MFP or something similar forever? I think that I might. I tend to fool myself without it.

It doesn’t help that MFP makes editing your post so difficult and then impossible.

“Speakeasies” were a thing during prohibition- the roaring’20’s Once prohibition ended speakeasies closed down and more publicly open bars opened in their place. Ending the Great Depression was a huge motivation to repealing the 28th amendment. There was some overlap of the Speakeasy era with the depression era, but…

I WILL NOT allow the frustrations of my day to affect my AF resolve! My goal for the week is fewer than 1000 calories of alcohol. I plan on saving them up for Friday and Saturday

They are very easy to extract the fruit. The hard outer skin cuts easily with a serrated knife. Then you peel off the fleshy rind to expose the center clusters. I discovered that if it isn’t too ripe the seeds in the clusters are very chewable and have a pleasant texture. A more mature fruit has a seed that you can’t chew.…

I went to the Asian market today and a friendly random stranger convinced me to buy mangosteens. OMG! Where have these been all my life. What a delicious fruit.

This chart from Fitbit app helps remind me that one bad day doesn’t ruin the whole week

Friday weigh in day I was doing sooo good -then Wednesday happened I COMPLETELY OVERINDULGED in the alcohol department. Which means that Thursday I required vast amounts of fatty, sugar laden food in order to survive. Ugh! But today and tomorrow are another day. Swam 40 minutes this morning. Work was over 11000 steps and did the stairs 17 times. It was a crazy busy day!

I have had an aha moment today. I knew that I could add different meals, snacks but it NEVER occurred to me until today to use one of those slots for alcohol consumed. Now I will easily see how many of my daily/ weekly calories are from alcohol.

Cindyk4919 It’s FRIDAY! weigh in day for me. It’s not going to look great because my body has decided that what goes in is staying in! Prunes and fiber and coffee are not doing their job! I’m hoping that my system doesn’t make me resort to breakfast at the local greasy spoon! I will swim this morning for the 4th time this…

I am definitely one of the swimmers. Over the past year, I worked up to swimming ~1800-2000 yards a day. Yesterday and today, I swam my only 900 yards, but my recovery is going well and I plan/hope to be back up to 1800 by the end of month. [/quote] How long does it take you to swim 1800 yards? According to my fancy new…

It seems like there’s quite a few in this group that enjoy lap swimming as a favorite exercise. Chime in if you’re one of the swimmers.
