Sounds like water and muscle and lack of consistency in your routine. It will take 2 weeks of being strict and consistent to get the train back on track. I know I have been there! You'll do it

Super late to this party but for any keto, lchf newbies. Keto is a tool, IF is a tool, they can be used together or separate. I am not good at IF yet. I think I over eat coming out of an IF. I think it could be very powerful if you can not go crazy with the calories during the eating window.

Not sure what you want us to say. Sounds like your asking for permission to just have some carbs it's ok, but that's not going to happen from me. See my post on "cheating is NOT an option". This is exactly what prompted me to write that post. You know what works, do that.

Awesome Thank!

hmmm...interesting take on lurkers in the forum. I never thought about that. There are obviously some of us who are regular posters and commenters (you know who you are!). But yeah, I never thought of all those who pop in and never say anything. No reason to be shy here!

Awesome! I wish I would have had that comment in hand. It was pretty funny to see the look in her eye as she couldn't come to grips that I had achieved a good waist circumference, low blood sugar, good weight etc... on my LCHF diet. It was funny when she said the butter and cream cheese on my whole grain bread and bagel…

I go total carbs & if you are seeking Ketosis then you need to watch the total carb count whether they come from Vegetables, Nuts, Fruits (ie. Avocados). So carrots in small amounts to reach your macros. Serving sizes will be determined by your total calorie goal and macros and by meals (some here only eat 2 meals a day…

I would focus on cutting carbs. Carbs spike insulin and blocks fat burning. When I hit the dreaded plateau I go for intermittent fasting to kick start the fat burning weight loss process.
-
Haha ... me too. I come here I learn I contribute. Repeat again. This group is by far the best on MFP
-
This is not about ketosis it's about people not staying focused on what their goals are and what their plan was to reach their goals.

Seems to gimmicky marketing for me. Plus I bet the ingredients are probably not whole food, probably packed with unknown commercially made ingredients. To top it off I am always skeptical of the "Net Carb" claims.
-
Again this is great for you, I am not trying to convince you otherwise.
-
Don't get frustrated...you now have the knowledge and have the means to make the best food choices for you and your family when you shop and prepare. I am enlightened and know that I am in the top 1% of healthy eaters, not manipulated by the big food companies and government (who are paid off by the big food companies).…

@kpk54 Plus you have to look at the context of the post I addressing from another member.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent Question! IMO there is a distinct difference in the phase of your diet (Loss Mode / Mtc Mode). A "cheat" is a deliberate deviation from your diet. So if you are a LCHF and in weight loss mode and you have your macros / caloric deficit set and you purposely deviate, its a cheat. You cheated…

Very jealous! I never up my protein and fat when hungry and lose! I try but it doesn't happen for me. BUT it does for many, I find if I can get past a "wave" of hunger it subsides and I can go along time without feeling hungry again. For me it surely seems to be a mental exercise, where my body says I should be hungry you…

You can? (I say sarcastically) What is the source? I had a similar comment to me and people who do not understand this WOE get Ketosis mixed up with Ketoacidisis (sp?) which is serious but you would have a underlying condition.

Ahh the dreaded and elusive last 10. Exactly where I am! I have been stuck in a range of 193-195 cannot break 193. Every time I hit 193 I pop back to 195. I want to get to 185! So unfortunately its a math problem for me. Since I am down I had to recalculate my caloric intake down. And I have upped my Intermittent Fasting…

I suggest you study LCHF and Keto Diets, there are a ton of resources out there. Also, start here to get many of your questions answered: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10103966/start-here-the-lcd-launch-pad#latest Put it simply, your body makes it's own cholesterol in a massive amount compared to what we…

Congrats! I need 10 more to go then I can say the same. I went from 221 to 193 and now cant break 193. Time & patience...take care.

Totally agree! Everyone is in different stages of their journeys and on different journeys. We are all trying to make sure we don't become part of the 80% that lose weight only to gain it back and more. This idea should be a tool to remember for many. Others can simply say that's nice but I don't need this and put it away.
-
Which is why I posted ...those on weight loss diets. You and many others are on "maintenance diets" two different things in my opinion. Great job by the way!
-
If they don't list broccoli or cauliflower the site is fraud. Ok kidding of course. But this is why I use many sources and we all know that broccoli is an excellent food choice on the lchf

@Sunny_Bunny_ The article and Ketogenic.com site were very inspirational! Great stuff, sorry to hear your app crashed, I am sure you had more insightful comments - as you always do :)

Motion passed: Thou shall not eat cake when famished :p

Everyone on the LC and weight loss journey needs to read this
-
Awesome
-
Dramatic? Well read some of the "Cheat" posts out there and come back. Great for you that you can get away with them, but I find the majority of those trying to lose weight use "cheats" and then are stunned to find there not losing and give up.
-
I love the flow chart!

Cake? How about beef jerkey, almonds or water or a coffee or a zillion other things that are good for a LCHF diet. Its all about choices and making the best ones along the way.
