  • Again please don’t confuse weights and yoga. They are not the same. Weights don’t burn much because traditionally you rest for 2-3 minutes whereas ashtanga yoga is not like that. It is much more cardio vascular and it was because of these sort of claims that I started undereating because I believed all this nonsense that…
  • Definitely agree 😊
  • Yoga originally comes from my culture and let me tell you how irritating it is that the west has just popularised it as only some hippie relaxation trend when in reality there are so many asanas that even the fittest runners couldn’t do. Please do not compare it to weight lifting- with lifting you use reps, sets and rest.…
  • I just had the same issue this weekend. I ate 3000 calories one day and I couldn’t stop eating. Appetite was so ravenous it scared me because I thought I had my hormones under control 😢. And It was all sugar and chocolates! I’ve found that (maybe due to my PCOS) but eating too much sugar makes my cravings WORSE. So next…
  • Was that Jordan Syatt?
  • I’m sorry but I’m going strongly DISAGREE. I’ve got a yoga instructor friend who can balance on one hand, do hand stands and all sorts of intense body weight exercises. Yoga is very similar to callisthenics, depending on which type you do. Only yin yoga and hatha yoga are the gentle ones. Try Vinyasa, ashtanga and bikram…
  • That’s strange- I just did a Boho Beautiful vinyasa flow and when I type in vinyasa yoga flow it comes up as one of the options and that’s what I use.
  • I’m 5’ 4 and 155-160 lbs and I have abs! Body fat % is around 26-29%? I find that weight lifting and yoga has given me amazing abs lol! I do plan on losing a little weight though (probably 15-20 lbs). I have more fat on my arms and thighs 😩 and less on my stomach! I’m a little heavier right now because I just attempted a…
  • Are you tired? Do you always have cold hands and feet? Have you been dieting for a while? I was in the same situation but I’m 5’ 4” and I used to eat 1200-1500 calories a day, hovered and bounced around 2000 calories (for a few months) then slowly reverse dieted all the way up to 2600 on some days. In the end I averaged…
  • OP, I can totally empathise with you because it’s one of those things that are like a double edged sword. You love it and hate it at the same time. Personally, tracking was really good for me and really bad for me because I learned how much I needed to eat and how much protein I needed, but I admit that it got obsessive…
  • For me, the one switch that has finally helped me to feel full, satisfied and energetic is eating a large breakfast at 10-11am consisting of 40-50g of protein and 700-800 calories. I used to eat a smaller breakfast and lunch and I never felt satisfied. I would always have to resist the temptation to snack. Before, I…
  • Yeah it’s amazing what a big breakfast/lunch can do to your appetite and hunger.
  • If you don’t mind me asking- what was your experience of IE? I would love to know, especially if you were part of a group.
  • I feel better now and I recently realised I don’t want to stay at this weight after thinking about it. Also what about the obesity epidemic? I just felt like the set point theory didn’t make sense because it didn’t consider epi-genetics. Lifestyle and other factors, diet, muscle mass, stress etc. The intuitive eating…
  • To me it seems like you need to eat more protein and lift weights and focus on changing your body composition rather than obsessing over the scale fluctuations. You’re 5’ 3” and leaning towards the lower end of the BMI scale! Definitely atleast start at home body weight workouts to build muscle and your composition will…
  • Hey everyone! I have another update: So I’ve managed to reverse diet myself up to 2500 calories a day instead of 2250/2300 after I decided to see if that’s what my maintenance calories were. I did it slowly and haven’t gained any fat back which means I think I’ve finally found my maintenance range! This is good news but it…
  • This. The body compensates for lack of food by ramping up hunger hormones especially ghrelin and cortisol. Eating enough is what helped me.
  • It took me along time to accept that my TDEE was higher than expected. Something to do with fidgeting and more muscle mass? I don’t know but I ignored this for a long time and underate for quite a while (years!) simply because I thought you can’t lose weight unless you eat 1200-1600 calories. That just doesn’t work for…
  • White rice is easy on the stomach and easy to overeat.
  • OP is it possible to give your measurements for chest, waist, hips, thighs because that would be more another way to compare and see if there was an error in your readings.
  • Wait, do you only weigh yourself once a month? Then how do you even know you’re in a plateau. Also seems like you’re just retaining water from lifting. Start weighing yourself every day to see the real trend. You might not even be in a plateau. Also, you don’t have much weight to lose so expect it to come off slower than…
  • I’m currently eating potatoes. Lol. The funny thing is (I come from a restrictive eating background/ED so I forbade myself from eating potatoes!) that now I find them so filling that I struggle to eat more. I’m in maintenance now but I will still eat potatoes with butter. End of story.
  • Hey everyone! Sorry for the late reply. Wow- I’ve read some amazing responses! I watched the video so thank you @Noreenmarie1234. It really opened my eyes and made me realise that even the skinniest girls get rolls and stretch marks. It’s totally normal. Wow. I feel much better about myself. I’m definitely subscribing to…
  • Yeah I love walking. It’s way better to do than HIIT (which ruined my health in the long run because that seemed to over tax my nervous system). It’s low impact and reduces stress, burns calories and makes you fitter! It’s an underrated form of exercise. I aim to get 10,000 steps a day.
  • Wow amazing! How long did it take you?
  • I just realised that my weight has dropped slightly from the above screen shot- that was on Wednesday 18th November. I’ve gone down to 160.7 lbs as of today. I guess I should just wait until after my period because right now I feel bloated and puffy (PMS) which doesn’t help with my brain telling me I’ve gained tonnes of…
  • Update: I’ve officially been almost 8 weeks on my diet break. That’s nearly two months! Wow it feels weird that time flies so quickly. So my weight has gone up ALOT. I’ve gained 8-9 lbs in those 8 weeks! I’m due to start my period and I’ve been eating takeaways and more carbs too so I hope it’s just water weight. I also…
