Hearty congratulations! Looking forward to that day, and I'm so glad to know that the MFP community around maintenance is as strong as it is. THIS is where I go for inspiration and reassurance.

Loving this! My partner and I sat down about a month ago and figured out how we could balance my workouts with our home life (he's a stay/work at home daddy, and doesn't get out much; I work outside the home, ring tower bells twice a week and Zumba once a week) so I wasn't taking advantage of his good nature and general…

Pretty much anything by Queen: I automatically start working out better when that comes on...

I may need to make a T-shirt that says that...

Looks like you're getting lots of opportunity ATM...

Once a week, Saturday morning. That's when I do my measurements as well. But I've been seeing a steady drop (smoothing out now, but I'm only about 6 kg from goal weight, so I know this bit will take longer) so once a week isn't a problem. Once I reach maintenance, I intend to do the same: once a week, just to know my…

I stood up off the floor easily. Four months ago, not being able to do that was one of the things that spurred my life re-boot.

That's rather how it feels. Bumping this.

Coming down with a cold, so managed run three, week 4 of C25K, but aside from the walks in my commute (about 4 miles all told) I don't know that I'll get much more in today...

I second what you've said here. While lifting isn't in my current regime, it is in my near-term plan, and that's ENTIRELY to do with lurking and learning here. @Ninjaeema I hope you find a GP you can work with. Sounds like the relationship with this one may have tanked before it set sail...

Me personally, I hate exercising in front of others. I've been doing this http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/fitness/Pages/12-week-fitness-plan.aspx which lets me exercise at a time, in a place that works for me, all for the price of free. At some point, when I'm ready to up my game, I will probably get over my dislike of being…

Oof, missed a couple days (of logging, not of moving!) and boy, do I find it harder to get my move on when I work from home or have a day-long workshop (Saturdays for the last month have been a washout!!) But today was Day 1, Week 4 of C25K, walks to and from home/train station/work, and a nice walk at lunchtime. Still…

Agree on utilising the resources at the gym, but if you want to do something on your own, I found this structure very accessible: http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/fitness/Pages/12-week-fitness-plan.aspx

Same here, which I've only recently fully embraced, since part of my programme includes starting at 6 AM, which means earlier to bed. But yes, with that final piece in place, it all works together. Otherwise it feels temporary.

@kimlee1807 - I hate exercising in front of other people. May be a hangover from my early childhood days of always being the uncoordinated one in PE who was openly mocked by her classmates, may just be that I don't like attention in general, but I get not wanting to walk into a gym. Even though I KNOW that everyone else…

I work at a desk, too, but I either take the train (about 4 miles walking round trip) or cycle (about 11 miles round trip), I make sure I get a 2+ mile walk in during the work day, and if I haven't made my 250 steps/hour (I love my FitBit!!!) I go up and down the three flights of stairs in my work building. I have been…

I put my eggs in my oatmeal, and I love it for the protein kick in the morning. As he goes down this path, he'll see lots of arguments for and against pretty much everything out there. 10 eggs a day, every day? Probably not the healthiest thing in the world, especially if they're served basted and with tons of cheese.…

One other possibility is that they're enjoying winding you up. I'm hoping that, given that it's a couple days since the original post, things have blown over. But I know some workplaces I've been in, people would probably say something like that just to tease, as cwolfman said happens in his workplace.

I will also add: I work in an office where there is a table with junk food on it (stuff people bring back from holidays or just because), as well as a nearly bottomless supply of biscuits/cookies and a coffee machine that makes lattes. I'm a grazer, especially if I'm not doing a lot of physical activity (so, like, if I'm…

Don't they roll down? I've never been able to keep things from rolling on my thigh, including the cotton shorts I wear for cycling in the summer....

@SCoil123 I have friends in Boulder Creek, whenever we see them we demand a hike in the redwoods! Jolly jealous of your run.

Late to the party but totally in: Day 1 Week 3 C25K this morning, 4 miles (round trip) walking for my work commute, plus an additional 4 miles walking (lunch, bell ringing practice), not to mention bell ringing for 90 minutes this evening. I've been using my FitBit move reminders to take the 3 flights of stairs to the…

Well jell! I've only been up that way twice, once for a family gathering where we stayed in one place for two days then went home, and once when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant :) The hikes were great, but now I'm seeing that the rides would be wonderful as well. Fantastic photos, what kind of camera do you use?
