  • I buy up reduced veg, or keep a stock of frozen, to make soups which I then freeze
  • Sweet chilli, soy, 5 spice, coriander and chilli powder
  • Log it, so that ifyou do gain when you look back later youll know why it was. But thats not so many calories that you cant maintain over all through the next week.
  • I don't like full fat mayo or milk. "lighter than light" mayo sucks but I have bought skimmed milk and light mayo for years! Normal mayo only works for me if it is garlic.
  • I will add you now, although I'm still pretty new myself! Im enjoying it though. Have met some nice people on here but all seem to be in the US so I sleep through most of their posts haha
  • At 31 I have 30 to lose (quite possibly more as would still be heavy for my height but it would put me in a bracket I've not seen in my adult life!) Happy for anyone to add me if youd like. Its good to browse peoples diaries I think. I started on 15th August and lost just under 7lb so far which seems too good to be true! I…
  • I have laptop access tomorrow so can update then at last. Cant remember what i started at on here but im 7 down in total since I started over all x
  • Mine says something like "not found" and then "search all foods/search database" as a blue link
  • I had a wholemeal pitta, chicken, salad and garlic mayo tonight. Been craving a kebab and it more than hit the spot! I am quite new to this but mostly eat similar to before for main meals, it was snacks that were awful for me. Now I keep a supple of homemade soups & wholemeal pitta, fruit and skips! The only thing I have…
  • It would depend, different foods make you retain different amounts of water, but that would soon come off. But fat wise, depends how many you eat for a deficit or to stay the same surely
  • Sorry people, for some reason I never saw any notifications for replies!! Thanks!
  • What sort of "away" is it? Hotel based? Will there be a kettle in the room? (or even if camping, a stove?) Canned foods if you have a stove would work. If not, canned fruit still would -in juice not syrup (although a lot of fresh would last a few days too if you can transport it without it getting squashed!), low cal…
  • I did a version of this (didn't bake the cauli first, just threw it all in a soup maker) the other day and it was lovely. http://www.lulabellaskitchen.com/search?q=spiced+cauliflower I did a BNS and carrot to use up the rest of the carrots too.
  • Slimline fevertree is nice. Slimline schwepps is not.

  • I love vodka and soda with a slice of lime, or gin and tonic with a slice of cucumber! I drank it way before I started thinking about my weight. It's just got to not be "house vodka" because that's vile. The type of tonic also makes a difference

  • I haven't been able to get on the laptop to update. I went up this week but it was expected (but I'm not sure when I initially tracked here anyway). I had a boozy weekend and intended to work to earn back a deficit as I was off work this week... but I've spent it laid up with a sprained foot instead so I'm even more…
  • I tried out my soup maker for the first time today and now have two batches frozen in individual portions to take to work, they can defrost in my bag and pop in the microwave. Takeout I haven't sussed yet- Not much choice round me! I'm a sucker for egg fried rice and would probably just accept the calories and have some…

  • I got space raiders from asda - only a small amount but I bloody love them. If I am drinking a lot I try and stick to vodka and soda water with a slice of lime. That said I've been known to just not worry about it and make sure meals are particularly low calorie that day. Before counting I was eating too much and drinking…
  • I still can't do peppers or mushrooms but I eat a lot more veg now than I used to. I find I prefer most of them steamed, and don't like them overcooked... Some like courgette I don't like roasted chunks of, but shopped small in a sauce (like bolognese) is fine- I also grate carrot and chop celery into Bolognese, neither…
  • You look fantastic! Well done :)
  • Relatively new myself so in no real position to advise. The sticky posts at the top of the forum are worth reading though!

  • Thanks for that, good post :)
  • If you are finding it difficult to eat your calories, could it be that you have gone in to "diet mode"? With the greatest respect, none of us would need to use MFP to lose weight if we hadn't been easily eating too many calories before! I've done it myself, decided to lose weight and lived on salads and stir fry for a…
  • You could invite her to join you in whatever exercise you do perhaps, without mentioning her food choices or weight? Just say you think it would be fun to spend some time together?
  • Nutella in the yogurt is genius... but If I had any in the house it'd end up just being the jar and a spoon
  • Funny how we differ isn't it... all I want to do is curl up in the sofa and eat chocolate. I purposely have none in the house. Exercise could not be further from my mind! I also end up craving comfort food, so I'm working on stocking the freezer with portions of curry, soup, lasagne etc to hopefully help me stay away from…
  • Yep! I can walk 7 miles or so without trouble but running not so much. And who regularly has time to walk 7 miles (and how boring without doing it in different places).
  • Thank you for your suggestions, I will look into them! Just to be clearer- When I was born it looked like club foot, but muscles in the bottom half of my left leg didn't work apart from one, which meant that one pulled my foot into the wrong position. They told my mum I wouldn't walk, but moved that muscle into a position…
  • I think there might still be a bike lurking in my exes garage now you say that! That's an idea. Just need to see if I can get it back.. I can swim, but with bad form and slow which doesn't go down well at my local pool unfortunately!
  • Thanks I will check it out. It is a pain - I would love to be able to afford to consult someone for a personalised plan to work around it! I've let it be an excuse for too long.
