I'm still thinking about this... lol... and wanted to add that of course these rules about hearsay and rumours go out the window when safety and well being are concerned. If I heard a rumour that someone was a potential danger to my son for example... I wouldn't take the chance to find out if it were true or not. Hearsayโฆ

Agreed. I think we all do it unconsciously, like a survival reflex... and we should consciously as well so long as we are not basing those opinions on hearsay.

In my personal experience the "squeaky wheel" who's quick to air dirty laundry to anyone who will listen with the intention of defaming someones character is disingenuous and looking to absolve themselves of any guilt they may be feeling.
