Oh yeah, bad weather. Ugh. I guess I will have to go to the gym if that gets in the way... though I have never run on a treadmill, yet.

Thanks @Scott6255 and @PastorVincent !

I have recently started C25K. Today I completed W3R1. My goal is to finish this month at W7R2. I will update my progress on Mondays.

Getting through C25K and already signed up for a race that is being held in my town on Dec 7. Told my friends I would be in it! So there is no going back... not on this anyway.

I saw on FB that a lot of folks on a popular C25K group use the NHS app. Sadly, it is not available in the US.

Interesting question. If one were to put any stock in the MBTI, I am exactly in the middle between introvert and extrovert. And honestly, I can go either way as far as a class situation, depending on the specific people who are there. Yesterday a running store rep said they would give me one free training session, so I can…

That's what I have and I'm also using it at my own pace. It's pretty basic and I like that.

I think that is pretty key and what I like about my app, too.

Thanks for all your feedback!

One thing I'm doing is *decreasing* my walking on rest days. I had been walking about 5-6 miles a day over 1.5-2 hours a day. On a recent run, I pulled a muscle in my thigh and staying off my legs is the only thing that is getting it back in shape for me. Also, I am trying to go through the exercises I found on the…

Thanks for posting this. It is just what I needed to hear. I am over 50 and just finished W1D1 this morning. It was tough. I have a good walking base, too. For about 18 months now I have been walking about 5 miles a day, 7 days a week, outside, with a lot of it brisk walking. Also, I intentionally got my BMI down from 29…

curried spinach cream soup, corn on the cob (Silver Queen), stewed crowder peas, English-style roasted potatoes with fresh rosemary...

Unfortunately I have loved all the foods a little too much for my entire life. I did finally decide to try some of those new gluten-free pastas--not because I believe I need to be on a gluten-free diet but because a lot of them have a great protein-to-calorie ratio. The lasagna ones are pretty good (mostly because they are…

"You look fantastic!" I don't know why this one bothers me so much. I mean, I didn't think I looked so bad before. But I know the people who say this think they are being nice and complimenting me. But I'm losing weight for my health, not my looks. I really wish people did not notice.

I believe it. Apparently we taste things very differently when we're up in the air so they load the food down with salt (and sugar and fat) to compensate. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20150112-why-in-flight-food-tastes-weird

Good to see you around! Are you doing C25K?

Calling @brittlb07 ...haven't seen you in a while, hope everything is OK. Thanks for taking the lead and starting this thread.

Every time I have had my annual physical for the past 20 years they come up with a different height for me. I vary between 5'8.75" and 5'10.9" if you believe the medical folks. A few times (at my shortest) they have snuck up on measuring my height when I thought they were just weighing me, so I was probably slumping. A few…
