  • @55isfly22 FINGERS CROSSED FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • @delesiatate A good place to start is just to make one small change and the most monumental change I have personally experienced and I have read others have experienced is by simply ensuring you are getting enough protein. .8-1 x your body weight or goal weight depending on how much you have to lose. Start there then think…
  • @Jthanmyfitnesspal I don't know about aspartame but check out Good Earth Sweet & Spicy tea---no sweetness is needed with this, I swear!! Or try it with just a touch of maple syrup or honey.
  • @stormywxs288 Wishing you well and impressed with how active you are at 73 and with the bout of cancer!! Keep crushing it! Happy to have you join us! @200Karen Mmmm I love herbal tea or teas in general. One of my favorites that you can get on Amazon is Good Earth Sweet & Spicy. They have a caffeinated and non-caffeinated…
  • BUMP Happy 2023~~
  • @nossmf I experienced some elbow pain and backed off the lifting with moves that seemed to aggravate it (Upright rows for instance is one I recall) It got better but still will rear its painful head from time to time. I hope you can get back to lifting again soon! I am really inspired by your incline walks and I think I…
  • Thank you @ninerbuff and green beans are making me hungry!!!
  • @MrsLaven2015 Welcome! To answer your question about exercise calories, I do not do anything with my exercise in terms of my calories! I lift for ~90 minutes 4x/week plus 1-2x 30+ mins of cardio each week and step count of 7K minimum each day.
  • You increase the resistance and the incline? I don't know that I have it in me to go so slow for recovery :) Going 130 feels SO slow to me! But I walk super fast by nature just through the halls at work and everyone knows I am coming by hearing my walk. Oh yes, I was catching up on this thread! I read it periodically to…
  • @nossmf I love your elliptical incline hills! What pace are you going when you do the hills? Also, have you done them on the treadmill and what pace on there? Also, I am 44 now but still recall the wrath of my mom when I was home late and really hope when my son gets older (11 now!) that he never leaves me hanging but I…
  • I am Naomi and I am 44 from Vermont! I am 5'3" and looking to lose 10 pounds over the next three plus months. I lift weights 4-5 times per week as well as do cardio. I think I will ramp my cardio up with some HIIT workouts to try to change things up a bit. I would also like to add in 5 minutes of stretching at night before…
  • Well I have had a bad cold which meant I was home and sleeping a ton yesterday (it was also -38 Fahrenheit yesterday with the wind chill!!) and when I wasn’t sleeping, I just wanted to snack and snack because I was bored and anxious! Not a great way to start this stretch off but trying to have grace with myself. ❤️
  • I’m spending $450 a month for weekly programming and access for as many questions as I have. I do weekly checkins also. I just feel like that is a ton of money but I love the programming and do see an improvement in my legs, which is my trouble spot. They are changing a ton and I haven’t experienced this on my own. So in…
  • Bumping this to see if anyone else has a coach they work with and can offer recommendations. I am paying a lot for the coach I am working with and I am just not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze! Thanks in advance!!
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting~ Really get wanting to look your best! A year is a good chunk of time for you to make some steady changes--like others say, I wouldn't rush anything! What are you current stats and where do you want to be? Also, what do you do currently for healthy habits, nutrition and…
  • I completely, 100% feel you!! I gain weight both at ovulation AND my period, and also experience pretty strong urges to eat more at these times. I also did gain weight when I first started weight lifting but it was temporary. I would say it did last longer than I anticipated. This is an awesome article to provide some…
  • I am a morning person through and through but lifting in the morning does not work for me. I much prefer lifting after I have had a day of nourishment and natural movement. I have tried early morning workouts but I find I don't feel as strong, probably due to not eating. That is just me and my body. I agree with whoever…
  • @Snipsa Your post really resonates with me! I have that same feeling of shame both in myself and in the thought that everyone knows I "failed" and have gained weight. I even tell myself others are talking about me! It's so toxic! In reality, I bet noone has any clue or even cares! AWESOME to you for recommitting to…
  • I have gained a few pounds lately that won't seem to budge and have been super bummed about this. I am still lifting and crushing it at the gym but I only see the ways I am failing at nutrition lately. Last night, I saw an old coworker at the gym who I haven't seen in a year or so. He yelled over to me to tell me how…
  • FEBRUARY 1st YEAAA WE got this!!! 2/1 officially weighing in at 142! My motivation is high and I know that will change and really hoping this group will help support me and each other!
  • @deepwoodslady Thank you for your organization! I am going to use your framework below! I am Naomi and I am 44 from Vermont! I am 5'3" and looking to lose 10 pounds over the next three plus months. I lift weights 4-5 times per week as well as do cardio. I think I will ramp my cardio up with some HIIT workouts to try to…
  • @katemcd495 What color is your hair naturally and is it naturally straight or curly? What if you try doing a treatment first before dying again? John Frieda makes a great defrizzing serum. @cupcakesandproteinshakes What color is your hair? I love my hair also and feel conflicted about letting it go gray but also just don't…
  • It's a little late into this chunk of time but I don't want to wait until the next one starts in February so jumping in now. I am at 139 pounds right now and while I try not to be focused on a number, I know if I lose 10 pounds, I will feel more satisfied with how I look so I need to regroup and refocus and recommit to…
  • Bumping this to inspire more weight lifting babes <3
  • Oh yes @Yoolypr I know exactly what you mean about the Just For Men color :) I am going to be 45 this year and I think I am ready. I am nervous for a wedding I have to attend and a vacation I am going on but there will ALWAYS be something I am telling myself. And time flies!! @scoutmom1981 I am wondering if I will get to…
  • Crush it! You got this! And this step towards taking care of yourself will ripple across your whole life. Soak up the goodness, know that not every day will be perfect but every day is an opportunity to begin again!
  • I have a difficult time with any medication because I feel like it is only covering up the real issue with my body and I would rather heal myself holistically, which is why I prefer to see a naturopath. However, when it came to being diagnosed with PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) I didn't feel like the efforts I was…
  • You're an athlete~ KEEP TELLING YOURSELF THAT! Talk to yourself as the person you know you are inside underneath the depression, the extra pounds, the emotions--I am SO happy for you!!!!! Let your future self be your guide.
