Hi! If you are able to, see a physiotherapist (I know physiotherapy is governed differently in different countries, I would see a physio over a doctor in this case if it was me, but YMMV). They will be able to tell you the problem, come up with a treatment plan, and give you strengthening exercises to help fix it. Rest is…

@shanaber I'm in Canada :) There's beautiful bright blue skies here today, and the sun is shining, the snow is blindingly bright... and when you stand in the sunlight of a window its so warm and lovely. But then you step outside and the breath is robbed from your lungs. Its a frigid one for sure. Forecast for tonight is…

Hi! Welcome to MFP! You're here, and you're ready for a change, that's wonderful :) There is plenty of amazing advice on the forums, each topic has some "most helpful posts" threads, and if you have time (I'm sure life is busy with a 2 year old!) they are really great to read. It's intimidating to start, but you can do…

the cold must be getting to my brain, forgot the "-" It was -25C / -13F. Although now its -30C / -22F, so more treadmill for me! I might bundle up for a walk later... we'll see how the wind is. I love that I get to run outside vicariously through all of your posts! :)

2.5 / 20 hours done! Weather is cold and snowy here (-25C / 13F), I love the cold, but I think it might be time for some treadmill running

Welcome to MFP!

humour, intelligence, eyes, smile, oh and laugh lines around the eyes always get me

@WandRsmom you look fabulous!! I'm still very a much an "in progress"... sometimes I see myself now in the mirror and I am totally shocked, other times I see pictures of the start of my journey and I am totally shocked by that! I wonder what its going to be like when I continue towards the "after" Side note, as someone…

Amazing work! You have a tremendous attitude, and I so enjoyed reading about your journey! I'm cheering you on towards your day 300 update :)

Welcome to MFP, and congrats on your little one!

I suggest looking into Bodyfit by Amy on youtube: she has a masters in exercise science, and has an entire playlist on diastasis recti, including information and exercises. Diastasis recti is pretty common among women that have carried a child, so some of her videos are geared toward that demographic, but its great…

Welcome to MFP! I like to weigh every morning. Water retention, sodium intake, hormones / cycles, etc all contribute to weight fluctuations for me, so I like to see frequent data points but pay attention to the trends. Example: If I have fish and chips for dinner on a day where I am still under my calorie goal, I'm pretty…

@SummerSkier wow, so beautiful!

Sunshine, blue skies, and a warm -5C / 23F felt nearly tropical today! 1/20 hours done!

Hi Everyone! Happy to be here :) I’ve been running for a while, but I’m new to the monthly running challenge. My goal for the month is 20 hours.

You've a great attitude! I'm sorry to hear about your injuries, and hope you have a full recovery!! My injury was in 2016. Ski accident: dislocated shoulder, broke my humerus into four pieces. Afterwards my arm was basically metal and other peoples bones. I had a really great surgeon, and a really great physiotherapist,…

I believe there are some PCOS groups / discussion threads here on MFP. You might find them very helpful as there is some specific challenges with losing weight with PCOS and they may have some strategies that will work well for you. I can't remember where they are, but I'm sure a search would yield something. It's not…

I find that evening cravings usually have to do with how tired I am. I know many people find success in asking themselves if they are dehydrated before snacking, and drink water etc.. but I keep myself extremely well hydrated, so that's never been a successful strategy for me. How tired I am definitely makes a huge…

Fantastic!! such great progress, and such great dedication!

Nice work! The weather is going to be a bit colder this week where I am, gotta find some more of my layers for those winter runs haha

Forgot to mention, Bodyfit by Amy has an entire playlist on youtube devoted to diastasis recti. It's not something that I've dealt with myself, but my sister-in-law did and said it made a difference for her!

Lots of really great responses so I'll second that posture might have something to do with it, and a weakness in the transverse abdominals might as well. Transverse abdominals is not something that people talk a lot about, but it makes a big difference. A weakness in the transverse abdominals makes it seem like you've got…

Wow! Great dedication, and great transformation!

Haven't done it myself, but my Dad does the DVD daily. He's turning 70 this year, he moves better than most people that are 20-30 years younger than he is. Not kidding. Before covid we had a family get together and some of the grandkids lost the ball they were playing with to the neighbours yard. Even though he was the…

I had one experience: she asked me to go on the stationary bike for 25 minutes, was shocked that I could hold a conversation easily while at an elevated heart rate, then told me she could "fix my shoulder" because she was a pilates instructor*. I did not gain a single piece of knowledge, nor did I see her again. I'd love…

I weigh daily as I find I can see the trends a lot more accurately: which foods cause water retention (and how much), how hormonal cycles affect my weight, all that stuff. Its so much easier to keep calm about going up a few pounds when I know its because I ate fish and chips the night before, and in another day, the water…

As MaltedTea says, there are many different ways of eating that work with MFP. One thread you might be interested in is this one: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10806436/what-do-you-notice-what-do-you-wonder/p1 Patience is key, as is accurately logging. But figuring out a way of eating that works best for…
